I find myself looking for reasons to leave a league like this. Or at a minimum making it a "back burner" league that gets the least attention.
Yeah, I'm conflicted because this is a league where I have at least some real life friends, and my only dynasty league since '07.

Sure there are other issues - philosophical rules differences and clear communication are the big ones - to the point where I've thought about adding another dynasty league to the mix so I could "back burner" and stress less about the occasional stupid stuff in this one.

It's tough - been 13 years and I ultimately still enjoy the competition and challenge which for now outweigh the occasional BS. That and I spend way too much time managing my team in this league, can't imagine I could stay sane having to spend even more in multiple leagues.
Good to know there is another 1 dynasty leaguer in this forum that posts alot. I felt like i was the only one
Dropping down to one league was the best FF decision I ever made.

100%

I do the one dynasty league, and one redraft with largely the same group of guys (military friends, and friends/family of friends). I tried adding a second redraft one year, and couldn't pay enough attention to any one of them to be competitive so I'm back to just the two leagues and feel it's the perfect amount to feed my fix.

Agreed. Although, I'm not quite there yet. I've been doing this dynasty league thing since 08/09 I believe. In recent years, I peaked at 8 dynasty leagues. It was too much. I was commisioner in 2 of them. Now, as of this year, I'm down to 3 and only a commisioner in one. I am enjoying the pastime much more these days.

It's also much more fun if you can root for your group of players unequivocally... as soon as you get into that territory of "yeah, I need him to go off tonight BUT NOT TOO MUCH cos I'm facing him in 2 other leagues!" it becomes a little more than a bunch of numbers and some random names.

I love rooting for -my- dudes, and being overly invested in them "because I have him in my dynasty league"

Oh so more one leaguers than i thought. Very good. Ya idk how people do so many leagues. My one league has been around since 2015 and its still alot. I respect multiple leaguers dont get me wrong but i have a hard enough time in my own league, let alone having multiple. Its a friends league and i prefer to keep it that way. Part of me thinks it would be nice to have at least another league so i could possibly win a championship, something that has eluded me in this one league, but then i realize i probably wouldnt care so much about the new league i was in. My one league tho i have set myself back years by just making bad trades since at first i didnt know value or anything (this forum and DLF has helped a ton with that). I also drafted Andrew Luck with my first pick in the startup     I finally feel on track now and grabbing as much of this 2020 class plus DK Metcalf has helped me feel like im climbing out of the mess i made. Definitely a learning curve to this. Anyway Rant over

Touché. I used to be a fantasy binger. Now I have my 1 league with high school peeps. I’m the only one who trades though. I think I’ve made at least one trade with every owner.

You overpaid out the bleep for Barkley. Lol. I prefer the Cooper side by a lot.

AMEN! I love not having that conflict. I have 1 dynasty league and 1 redraft and I care much more about the dynasty league...

Having only 1 dynasty team makes them MY guys

I’m contributing to the full derail here, but whatever. I get the conflict issue and I felt the same a while ago. Kinda dialed in how many leagues total I want to be in, and it kinda depends how the leagues are structured. A redraft where there aren’t too many big trades doesn’t take much time or effort.

What’s kinda interesting as I think about it though (and why I’m bothering to post) is that I’ve kinda gone the other way with it. Not only do I juggle multiple teams, my homer fandom takes precedence, and I also bet games a good bit. I’m a Vikings fan, but I’m playing against Jefferson? I’ve got Watson starting, but I’ve bet the other team? I’ve got Wilson going for me in one semi, and against me in another?

It’s kinda like... have enough things going on, and accepting you’re gonna take some Ls no matter what, takes the load off. Also I don’t think I’ve had an all around terrible week across the board, but sometimes things do go the other way and you just sweep everything. Makes for a fun week.

The thing is, fleecing an inexperienced owner isn't good for the league as a whole. So although it's nice to "win" a trade, if everyone does that to him, it negatively affects the league.

So good for you for taking the high road, most wouldn't

Figured I’d update my results since making this trade.
I went 6-2 for the remainder of the season (including playoff week 1), had the highest scoring team over those 8 weeks, and had 4 high games of the week which were good for the 3rd, 5th, and 8th most points ever scored in the league. Won week 1 of playoffs 225-193 and am currently winning the championship 204-132 with my opponent projected to score 22 more points (PK, DL, and DB).

Finished with 2nd best record, most points per game average, and had the 2nd most (by .7) points per game average against my team. So if I win tonight, I did it the hard way.

Player stats since trade:
Cooper: WR 32 weeks 8-15
Watkins: WR 102 weeks 8-15
Vander Esch: LB 57 weekly average score weeks 8-15
1st (1.10) ?????
Barkley: Still ranked 4th overall and RB 3 on DLF; ranked 6th overall RB 4 on Rotoviz
Quinnen : DL 8 weeks 8-15

Good Karma for this year (knock on wood, don't let it run out tonight!!!). How will the trade look next year? Who knows but I’m hoping good karma continues and Barkley has a strong return.

Now I need to see if I can get a crazy offer for RoJo.
