Flashback to the 2017 NFL draft. 3 highly rated TEs go in round 1 (Howard, Engram, Njoku). All to teams that have no idea how to use them, but still picked up the 5th year option.
It's crazy to see how many 1st round drafted TEs turn out lame in NFL besides flashing potential here & there.
Less tape to judge these TE's on with more and more teams moving to spread offenses.
Draft capital used to be a very good predictor of TE production during the days of Dallas Clark and Tony Gonzalez.. but it's been a crapshoot in recent years.
Going back to Dustin Keller, Brandon Pettigrew, Jermaine Gresham, Tyler Eifert, Eric Ebron it's been a while since these 1st round TE's have really hit.
Not a good sign for Fant & Hockenson, but we'll have to wait & see on that.
I'm a believer in Fant. Dude balled out by rookie TE standards and has looked good when he's played this year.
Hock.. I think he'll be fine, not sure if he'll be elite -- again college hasn't been a great indicator in recent years -- but he's showing signs of life.
Both of them are way ahead of other 1st round busts at this point in their careers.

He's been off my radar for a while... Just looked at ADP and he's TE8 ahead of Henry, Jonny and Gisecki... I'd expect that to change soon

I like Albert, but I'd need to see a lot more out of him before I think he begins encroaching on a healthy Fant's touches.

This poor man's Taysom Hill stuff isn't working. Taking the ball out of Wentz's hands for the 2 pointer after that throw to Scott? Classic over coaching.
