I'd be worried about Henderson. Maybe they carve out some sort of timeshare but whereas AP is 35 and not going to be here for long (relative to Swift's timeshare) Akers has to deal 23 year old Henderson who is only one year removed from the draft himself. I've been a Swift truther for a while, yesterday everything you wanted to see was on display.

Ironically I was comparing Swift's first 4 games of usage to Kamara and he's actually outpaced him as a rookie to date. Funny that Kamara when he was a rookie was also buried behind AP in New Orleans, lets hope it's fate. Swifts floor looks like it'll be consistently good with his receiving work, add in that he had 1 and 6 yard TD runs and its clear he can also be used on the goal line even if that's AP's usual bread and butter.

Swift’s snap count didn’t increase that dramatically over his previous game, but at least the Lions decided to change his usage on those snaps. Why it took this long to get him double digit carries is beyond me. Hopefully he eats into AP’s snaps a little more and becomes entrusted on third down. Once he gets the passing down work to himself, look out.

Just to reiterate how badly the rams have sabotaged Akers

Light front carry rate
Henderson 60%
Akers 15%

Don't really think they are doing it on purpose to sabotage him.

Ingram with a mid to high ankle sprain. They have a bye this week, but typically those injuries are multiple weeks, especially with his age. Hopefully Dobbins can get some run, now.

McVay called me last night and told me.

Lol, reminds me of Gordon on his rookie year, anytime Woodhead was in there was a threat of passing which opened up space for Woodhead to run, Gordon defences knew it was a run play and it would close up instantly. The worst part is Akers is meant to be a good pass catcher so would love to see him get utilised in that area to lighten up the stacked boxes.

Edit: actually I'm being greedy, after last game I'd be happy for Akers to get used AT ALL, regardless of play type.

I stand corrected. Do you have the same helmet Goff has, where McVay could tell him all that secret stuff he wasn't supposed to be able to do? I was more just nitpicking at the use of the word sabotage, as it implies intent. Akers certainly hasn't seen the same looks.

Meanwhile, in reality:

Darrell Henderson 8+ in box rate through 6 games: 27.7%, 4th most in the NFL.

Cam Akers has 26 carries, so each carry could equate to a 4% swing in the rate. It's not enough to use any kind of percentage except to make a misleading argument. Akers has only come in during certain game scripted opportunities past the injury. If Akers saw heavy carries in two games, the carry box %s are going to be heavily dependent on who they played and what the game script was.

or.... SABOTAGE!!!

Edit: Trying to find more on the carry V box rates, I pulled my stat from Next Gen Stats but they do seem to be missing the data on some of the backs weeks. Player Profiler's set does not have the 6th game yet. Probably not going to end up as the 4th highest with those numbers in granted.

this is really your king? All that footage is doing is making me bet the Chargers and their RBs for DFS. I'd be selling if you can get your initial investment back.

Mixon also had his big day against the jags, weirdly King Henry had an average day against them. Go figure.

The way he finished that long run was weak. Massive holes. Nice cut back on the last run. No backsides containment at all. Jags have looked bad against the run all year. Still think Swift will be a decent player.

Doesn't seem fair. It's not like Swift is low on talent. Every RB needs the offensive line to play well first and foremost.

Agreed. Good line play is nothing but a positive. I'd avoid taking the advice above and bailing for "your initial investment." Swift will eventually take the reigns and be worth more than than he is today.

I got him at 1.09, and there is zero chance I'd sell today for that price.

Yes!! No one else seems to be talking about it but it looked like he had the speed and angle to turn that into a TD if he had just kept running. Really weird that he slowed down and spun right into the defender.

On other runs he looked shifty with amazing lateral quickness and good vision, so that's encouraging..
