2020 Rookie RB's
Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
CEH looks good running the ball again tonight but until he gets involved in the pass game he would live in to his draft position.
He did have a play on the goaline that looked like it was designed for him. When he got taken away Mahomes just threw it away. I guess that is a good sign. I'd really love to see him get used over Williams in that 2 minute drill though

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
They clearly just aren't ready to put him out there for extended pass protection work, which is going to be a requirement for the RB in the 2 minute drill. It's pretty common for teams to not be comfortable with rookie RBs in pass protection, especially this year with the limited preseason prep and coaching time. He'll be out there in the coming years when his pass protection is ready, zero reason for concern at this point.PTW32 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 8:00 pm CEH looks good running the ball again tonight but until he gets involved in the pass game he would live in to his draft position.

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
One of maybe 3 coaches i would have doubts about that he has finally gotten this through his head, he is a buffoon straight and simple. From a dynasty rebuilder perspective im ok with them taking it easy on swift during his rookie year just due to wear and tear for RBs and i want Swift around as long as possible but from a real football perspective it just made no sense not allowing Swift lead back duties earlier.

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
I got hounded down for suggesting I wouldn’t trade Miles Sanders for a top 5 pick in this draft back in December lol.Ice wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:42 am I would be concerned about any 2020 RB not named CEH or Swift going forward.
Minor concerns but still plenty of potential.
Robinson, Great now but talent void so future RBBC concerns.
A. Gibson, experience concerns but trending up.
Dobbins RBBC plus a running QB stealing touches
Taylor RBBC back with vision concerns.
The rest I have more concerns with ever being the man on their team due to multi level talent deficiencies or better RB's in the system.
Anyone still remember when some thought Jacobs wasn't really close to the pre-draft upper echelon group???
Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
The actual point; In this season it seems to make a lot of sense not rushing out RB's to be a bell cow. Even though RB may be a bit easier to pick up than other positions they still need training camp to learn plays, especially on passing downs where line calls are even more difficult.Patsfan86 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 11:01 amI know, what is the point of saying this?Ice wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 10:21 amAs he sits in Concussion Protocol.Patsfan86 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 3:27 pm

He will get his but acting like it makes no sense is a bit rich in this environment. He is obviously moving past AP but in his first real outing at 15 plus carries he gets hurt.
I get blaming the coach but the its more of a system that is very common throughout the league. I own him all over the place so hoping he develops into a 20 touch player.

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
Dobbins, Taylor, Swift all have breakout performances and then covid and concussion. This season is FUN. Now we await to see Bevell's preferences.
Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
I would hope Bevell sees Swift is his best player at RB and continues to start him. While Patricia moving on from Detroit could be a great thing for swift i always remember that the grass isnt always greener. Whoever comes in obviously did not draft Swift, hopefully they love the talent too. Either way a lot of changes will be coming to detroit and it should be an interesting offseason.

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
Here's a stat I thought was amazing. That 61 yard Akers run yesterday was the longest run for any Rams RB since McVay became the head coach in 2017.
Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
I mentioned last year, that the Rams struggles on offense was mostly due to Gurley and his lack of explosive play. Sure, the injuries to the OL didn't help. What it certainly was not, was the league figuring out and shutting McVay's offense down. He is still a top Offensive coach.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 6:40 am Here's a stat I thought was amazing. Akers is going to thrive in the Rams offense. Perhaps he'll only be behind James Robinson for his career fantasy production amongst the 2020 rookies.

Re: 2020 Rookie RB's
Yeah he didn't do much, probably because Mahomes and Hill were playing backyard ball against a bunch of 5-year old kids on defense. Why run the ball when you can embarrass an alleged NFL quality pass defense.
BOT, curious to see what McFarland does alongside Snell tomorrow night. The Broncos should have just forfeited and I'm starting to think the Ravens might be better off too, even if they are a far better team.

Akers is a highlight waiting to happen.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 6:40 am Here's a stat I thought was amazing. That 61 yard Akers run yesterday was the longest run for any Rams RB since McVay became the head coach in 2017.
In the second half, Akers had 9 touches to a combined 2 for Henderson + Brown.
the stats on the season now:
Akers 4.8 ypc vs 4.3 ypc for Henderson/Brown.
He has their 2 longest runs of the season (61 and 47 yards)
His YAC at 2.3 leads the team (Henderson 2.0, Brown 1.5)
Is Breaking tackles at nearly double the rate of Henderson/Brown.
