Contenders/Pretenders
Whether it's your team or another's after you bought their pick(s) in the offseason, we have expectations for how teams will perform. Breakouts and injuries can totally destroy your plans.
What teams are you trying to figure out for the rest of the year?
I have a 12 team that's clicking now with some good start/sit decisions. The last few years, I've started hot but missed the playoffs. This year's different?
PPR, 1Q, 1R, 3W, 1T, R/W flex, R/T flex
J Allen, Ryan
K Hunt, J Robinson, A Gibson, Peterson
Hopkins, Lockett, McLaurin, Slayton, Hilton, Gabriel Davis, Ward, Fitzgerald
Alie-Cox, Logan Thomas, Herndon
The team is 4-1 right now. I just beat my huckleberry in this league. Is this team really a contender?

Re: Contenders/Pretenders
Its close but i think in a start 3 WR league you need trade for another WR. Hunt is going to provide you a massive boost and being able to start 1 RB is great but you def need another WR or 2. Im also not a believer in any of those TEs long term, but thats normal for TE, only 3 are dependable long term.

Re: Contenders/Pretenders
Lol, that league does a random doubleheader one week.
Anyone else got interesting teams to share? In the offseason in one league, I was resigned to the only 1st I have being a late one- strong contender with Barkley, Ekeler, D Cook, Sutton, Golladay and others. They're somehow 3-1 (that's right, no doubleheader!) but their depth issues are gonna bite them hard soon. With a little luck, could be mid 1st.

Re: Contenders/Pretenders
Your team probably didn’t look too great to begin the season but with the performances of Hunt/JRob/Lockett/Allen you’re looking pretty solid. If they continue the year they’re having you’ll have a great shot.
I thought my team 1 would be a powerhouse this year. I won last year and in the offseason we converted D and K spots to flexes, so with 4 flexes my starters were:
QB: Russ
RB: Barkley/Zeke
WR: MT/Hopkins
FLEX: Mixon/Godwin/DJM/Hollywood
Well after dealing with injuries to Barkley/MT/Godwin and less than stellar starts by DJM/Mixon outside of one game a piece I am only 5th in total scoring. I made a couple lucky waiver claims in Davis and miller, and Jefferson has had a nice few weeks. Luckily I managed to play poor teams early in the year. Just goes to show how important quality depth is.

Re: Contenders/Pretenders
3-1, high scorer and current #1 seed but feels a bit fraudulent. This has been a beast of a team the last few years built around WR group despite being Nonppr. But it feels like I’m gonna struggle at that position and TE the remainder of the year, total scrubs outside of my big 4 WR.
Notables
Ryan/Tannehill
Kamara/Sanders/Dobbins/Kelley/Moss/Murray
Evans/OBJ/Julio/AJB

Huh. How many starting WRs? That Julio and AJB injury combo could hurt bad. What's the depth?Ray Finkle wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 4:12 am 3-1, high scorer and current #1 seed but feels a bit fraudulent. Depending on the QB scoring rules, I could see being very concerned about that position. Ryan is doing real bad.

Team in sig. Really young. Relying on guys like Robinson with Barkley's injury. I don't down my 2021 1st (sold for Mahomes). I think if things click I can be a dark horse (lock for playoffs) but 2021 is probably my year to really push it.

What're the starting requirements? Wilson's blowing up, but if the scoring favors QBs, he can cover up roster weaknesses. Could be what's going on here. That RB2 and WR corps looks iffy.blemly wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 7:36 pm 14-team SF PPR (1.5PPR TE Prem) team I have has me considering a run even though it doesn’t feel like a true contender. That's a damn good roster long term. Robinson helps cover for Barkley, but the WR corps seems a bigger problem- pretty young names but production underperforming. Definitely set up well to dominate n to the future. Better long term set up than any if my teams, looks real good.

It’s 6ppTD for QB, forgot to mention that. Roster requirements are QB/2RB/3WR/TE/SF/3FLX (a true sadists league in 14-team). Re: Contenders/Pretenders
You're correct I think that it is lacking the depth to be a real contender but well, this is a wild year. My instinct would be to blow it up because I think you're losing two starting QBs next season in Foles and Rivers.blemly wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 7:36 pm 14-team SF PPR (1.5PPR TE Prem) team I have has me considering a run even though it doesn’t feel like a true contender.
