Week 3 waiver wire lottery tickets......

Postby jordanzs » Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:15 pm

Last week had plenty of opportunity to pluck guys off the waiver wire on Friday and get an early jump on the next week’s bidding frenzy. Mike Davis, reed, Cox, etc.

So this week, who are you grabbing as a what the heck lottery ticket kinda guy? One that you can easily drop next week if they do nothing.

My rosters are a bit full, but I’ve made some room for Trenton Cannon. Who knows, what if he emerges over Mike Davis as the RB to own in Carolina. In the past, I’ve seen that scenario happen before, and if not, he’s an easy eject.

I’ve also seen Hasty being grabbed in case he does something.

And I also grabbed Mike Thomas (Bengals) at the waiver wire run, mostly for $0 bids. But I think he’s worth a pickup to see if he goes Russell Gage on us

I already had Hasty on everyone of my teams...... Cannon is probably a decent call. For me it is Jordan Wilkins. If JT gets hurt, he will have alteast a 2 down role
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

If I can find the roster room, I think Kaden Smith is a good one too. You're basically short-selling Engram's health. With Barkley out of the picture, the Giants' TE position could stay relevant.

On that note, does Damion Ratley ever become a thing with Sheppard out & Tate getting old?

If Mo Alie Cox is still available, he's my guy:

- Converted basketball player playing with Philip Rivers (Rivers loves big bodied receivers that can box out defenders on jump balls; think Antonio Gates)
- Averaged over 2 YPRR with Jacoby Brissett last year in limited action
- Went for over 100 yards in his first NFL start
- Was the highest graded player via PFF in week 2

Been waiting on him for two years. He finally got his chance last week & killed it.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Last week I posted a similar thread after snatching him off the waiver wire in multiple leagues. This Wednesday he went for a good amount of FABB $$$ in the leagues where he was still available. But yeah if he's available still in your league, grab him......

It's likely PFF didn't watch the Colts game last week then. I love Mo and am a big Colts fan, but Rivers INT was 100% Mos drop. It bounced off his chest as he tried to cradle it rather than catch it. Outside of that he was great, as he has always been when he plays.

I think of those as reactive pickups to what we saw in weeks 1&2. Good pickups of course.

Just trying to speculate on this thread as to which will be the pickups for week 3, coming from players who haven't produced yet :)

Damyiere Byrd(only for bye week and teams wrecked by injuries)

Chris Hogan

Michael Thomas(cincy) me be taking the Adam Theilan trajectory with Green looking terrible. Matt Harmon once loved Thomas i believe.

Foster Moreau

Blake Bortles in SF

Justin Jackson and Bryce Love are available in my league on waivers. If Kelley/Ekeler get injured henwould get work if healthy. Love would probably be back with some light volume as well if Gibson or Barber were injured.

I liked Ashton Dulin last year. He is a super deep add though.

Another SF add would be RG3 if not rostered already. He should be but not always do leagues do what they should (im adding him over Jaylen Guyton tonight)
He would be worth something to someone. A 3rd atleast. Not a bad speculative add if he is free. Lamar is the man but running qbs eventually fall.

I grabbed him everywhere I could this off season. Just waiting for him to get back on the field regularly, last 5 games of 2019 was 70+ points in ppr.

Im going to go get him tonight when waivers run in my te prem league. Good call. I traded Engram so i can admit now it's a matter of when and not if he gets hurt without jinxing him. Ha. Do i reverse jinx him though to a injury free season if i pick up kaden smith?

I trust everyone's leagues have got Jeff Wilson Jr, but if he's out there somehow... grab him...

I'm very excited to see what he can do this week, even with a greatly diminished SF offense. Some of us remember well his vulturing weeks last year, the man was a touchdown machine.

JaMychal Hasty too, but I think everyone's all over that. I managed to sneak him on to my Taxi, replacing Harrison Bryant.

I did waive Wilson this week. Good call.

I like Harrison Bryant long term but I'm TE prem. Do you think Hasty is worth more?

Your TE prem gives it more weight, but Harrison is ultimately a long-term stash. Unless your league is super deep, I can't imagine anyone will stash him on their active roster until he builds his body out - and that's what will be required leading up to a year 3 or year 4 breakout. In the shorter term he's blocked by Austin Hooper, in a system that is run-first, with Baker "the many faced god" Mayfield under centre. That's... rough.

Hasty might see some snaps this week. I've never seen McKinnon last longer than 3 regular-season games in the last few years, and they're about to try giving him a semi-featured workload again. Call me glass "half empty" on that one. At the least, you'll be ahead of the pack if Hasty gets out there and flashes in Shanny's system. Beat writers are saying they are expecting Hasty's promotion off the taxi in the next 24 hours.

It's all a bit of a leap, but this is the deep stash thread...
