I said his upside is Lockett

Not sure where the Djax comp comes from. DJax will go down as one of the best undersized speedsters to play the game, but he was 'soft' for lack of a better word. Made his money by making people look silly in the open field and burning them with crisp routes -- but he wasn't a guy that would go over the middle and fight for contested catches, or fight through contact -- often times he'd go down or out of bounds as soon as a defender wasn't juked.

Mooney's got the same kinda toughness you see in Lockett and is more of a speed YAC guy than DJAX's juke you out of your own shoes style .

Lockett is a slot guy, Mooney plays on the outside and him and DJax are both YAC guys. Like Jackson he relies heavily on his speed to get open and outrun the defender to a spot where as Lockett is more of a great route runner sure handed contested catch guy. DJax may have a better juke than Mooney but YAC is YAC and being elusive one way or another is something I put in the same category.

That's fine if you think he's more like Lockett. He definitely has some resemblences, I just think DJax is a more accurate comp based on play style and role.

I could be wrong, but I believe Lockett only moved into the slot after DK's arrival. Prior to that he was primarily a boundary receiver with Doug Baldwin manning the slot.

Yea, I don't hate the comparison he definitely could develop into something similar, from what I've seen though he's not nearly as sure handed as Lockett is.

Don't own him but that may be insulting.

Have to think his owners would want at least a mid to high second next draft and that may not get it done as next draft won't be close to this past draft IMO.

Then again, I avoid all Bears on the offensive side of the ball. I watch them in a mirror for fear I may turn to stone if actually watch them directly.

Long term.. Edwards has a better shot to be an alpha but, Mooney could be the kind of upside guy you want if you have 2 or 3 flex spots.

If you can flip Mooney for Edwards that would be a heist. I still believe Edwards will be a stud.

He looks pretty good out there to my eye. He's out snapped Anthony Miller every week from week 2 on and played a majority of the offensive snaps (69% for the year). AROB ahead of him most games, but that's expected. He's received a minimum of 5 targets since week 3 so he's got a pretty good floor for a rookie right now.

I think he's a solid stash for now but don't have much optimism for his long term outlook. I mean CHI can barely hold up 1 WR and that's mostly due to junk time. However, I know how hyped Anthony Miller was and Mooney has already surpassed him.

Also, Mooney had a nice breakout age under 19. Sub 4.4 40 but he's on the small side as far as WR go. I didn't look into him much out of college as he was a day 3 pick and nothing jumped off the page to me at the time. I'd hate to make another DJAX comparison, but maybe TY Hilton is a bit closer of a comp as a later pick?

Anyone overly impressed or overly against him for any reason?

I've been watching him closely over the past month or so and I'm getting serious T.Y. Hilton & T. Lockett vibes out of him (and shout out to everyone else throwing out those comps).

He's definitely more than a straight-line sprinter, and while his size will always hold him back, he's shown a really great ability to get open in the short & intermediate areas of the field.

I doubt he's more than a WR #4 any time soon unless Chicago moves on from A-Rob and/or is able to significantly upgrade their QB situation, but he's a firm hold in dynasty as a bet-on-talent, fade-situation player right now.

Still see Tyler Lockett as his best case scenario.

Lockett's rookie year: 664 yards 6TDs
Mooney: 631 yards 4TDs
