ArrylT wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 9:14 am His touches have increased each week, and it seems pretty obvious, that with the increased Robinson volume, that it makes it easier for T. Lawrence and more possible they actually win a couple of games.

Last night he saw 95% snap count, whereas he hasnt seen above 75% in Weeks 1-3.
The Jags looked like a real football team last night for the first time in a long long time. Robinson should benefit even more as Lawrence improves.

It was easy to see why Lawrence was the #1 pick last night. He is going to be fantastic.
Earlier in the post, I was down on Robinson's usage and not pleased about his split with Hyde. Granted, Hyde was inactive last night, but just based on Robinson's performance, I would think he should continue to see a large majority of RB touches moving forward. I guess we'll see though. Game script certainly helped as well, since they were playing with the lead for a large portion of the game.

This was the first time I'd really got to see much of the Jags in 2021, as they haven't been on Red Zone often (go figure! ). And they're not in my local market. But I will say they looked better than I expected. Not sure if the short week helped them and hurt Cincy's defense coming off their big win against the Steelers?

And I would certainly expect Shenault's role to look a lot more like it did last night than it has over the first three weeks of the season with Chark out for the year. He'd been pretty useless for FF until last night, but now there's an expanded opportunity.

how does Meyer not being in JAX next season affect the RB room?

we now have two RB's that the HC won't have any ties too (assuming Dabo isn't looking for a new gig lol)

one has been pretty damn good, the other has first round pedigree. does this spell trouble for either one? if so which one? or is it gonna be best man wins next summer?

im expecting them both on the roster obviously, and ik it kinda of depends on who the HC is, but im curious on thoughts

With proper coaching it could be Chubb/Hunt or Ingram/Kamara, but that takes a good coaching staff dedication to running the ball. Not an easy task.

The guy is good. ETN owners are starting to sweat. Almost no chance, as I stated a week ago, ETN is the inside runner this guy is. He does everything well. Last year was not an aberration.

For what its worth, as an ETN owner, Jrob doesn't really worry me. I mean its not ideal, but I'd be totally content with having ETN in a K. Hunt type role. RB's can survive in one-two punch situations. IMO ETN is too talented to just be casted aside because Jrob is good, and ya know talent > situation every time.

i see that meyer is still in love with hyde for some reason. game on the line, they need a td, 4th and goal from the 1, hyde gets the ball.

i can't see the logic of that decision.

We'll see. I think there's a good chance Robinson is the better NFL running back, when all is said and done. Good chance the Jags have a new coach next year, too, so who knows how it will play out.

Yea I mean im not gonna try and tell you that Jrob will be out of a job next season. Just that they're not gonna ignore a first round RB. They'll either find ways to use him, or cash out and get what they can for him. Assuming JAX is smart enough to do so

Trade ETN away and fire Urban. I am sick and tired of seeing Urban pull JRob inside the 10 yard line to give that stiff former player of his chances.

Oh yeah. I still think ETN may be a COP back, but catch quite a few passes. He seems like a guy who will need space in the NFL, and will be good in that role. I have my doubts he's an inside runner in this league. Seems Urban was right in wanting Toney, not sure how they will deploy ETN, but I think he had the right idea trying to use him in space.
