Re: Myles Gaskin
Just sold Gaskin + Dalton Schultz for a 21 first (probably ends up around 10 overall) for those saying Gaskin is only worth a 3rd.

Re: Myles Gaskin
In one of my 12 team Superflex leagues, I traded Ito Smith/my 2021 2nd for Myles Gaskin. I was short on RBs, having Ekeler on that roster and I think Gaskin will get enough touches to keep putting up solid numbers. I also own Matt Breida, so that was the other reason I made this trade. I’m currently 3-2 and I think I’ll make the playoffs but don’t have much depth on this team, so maybe not a strong contender.

I'm also a 3-2 team in win-now mode and traded a 2nd for Gaskin. With the bye-week, I found myself with only Henry and Boston Scott active this week. Gladly paid the 2 to secure my win for this week and add a piece of much-needed depth here in the uncertain season of Covid. I also remember when everyone swore Rashad Penny was taking Chris Carson's job any game now.Cowboysfan33 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 9:33 am In one of my 12 team Superflex leagues, I traded Ito Smith/my 2021 2nd for Myles Gaskin. Re: Myles Gaskin
Nobody is going to confuse him for an elite RB, but he has looked very solid and is getting a ton of volume with a nice PPR floor.CGW wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 9:15 amHe's only been below 4.0ypc twice out of six games this year. Meanwhile, Breida(3.1) and Howard(0.8) both average lower ypc.
I get it, you expected someone else to win this job. He's not flashy and he likely isn't a long term solution (see the 100 pages of James Robinson threads), but he's a volume play in an offense with minimal competition.
If I get a 2nd I'll jump on it, but until then his production on my roster is worth more than a 3rd or later.

Definitely agree about paying a 2 and and I like rookie draft picks but the way I see it, for a mid or hopefully late 2nd, it’s worth paying for a player like that who can help you win now. That was probably the most I would’ve paid but that move alone may end up being the difference in my probable win(I’m up 13 with 3 players and the opposing team has 2 players) because we have to start two RBs and I was down to M.Ingram and Breida and started Ingram and Gaskin, I’m very glad to have made that deal.

Re: Myles Gaskin
Gaskin is currently 7th in RB opportunities so far (carries and targets).
His opportunities are increasing with Howard being a healthy scratch 2 weeks in a row.
Without Howard:
65% RB carries
69% RB targets
6 of 7 touches inside the 10
He's also #11 in the league in YAC out of the backfield.

Re: Myles Gaskin
The fact he got the job should give him every bit of credit James Robinson has received. Clearly Howard and Breida were supposed to be the thunder and lightning of the Miami running game and he ran them off the field. I like Breida and I like Howard for talent so I have to ask myself if both those guys have legit NFL skills and Gaskins took the job Gaskins has some legit skills or I am clueless. I would say he is worth every bit a mid-late 2nd.

Re: Myles Gaskin
Things can change in a hurry, just like any backfield. Enjoy it while it lasts, but it's not like Zeke or Kamara is ahead of Breida. The way RB injuries are mounting at record pace this year, no RB is safe, even your low-end dart throws.

Re: Myles Gaskin
Isn't that more a damning indication of how the team views Breida, being they'd rather feed a dart throw all the work than use him?

Re: Myles Gaskin
Its also not like Breida is some special talent either. He looked good in San Fran, but so does every single player that gets a carry in that system. Breida wasn't drafted so its not like he is a former high value prospect. Have you even considered Breida maybe just isn't anything special either.....
Re: Myles Gaskin
Gaskin and Robinson feel like 1 in the same to me. Gaskin seems to have less value just due to him being in the league longer but they're in the same situation. Pretty much 0 competition around either of them on below average offenses. I could see both teams drafting a day 2 RB next year and instantly tanking the values of each current starter.
Re: Myles Gaskin
Except Robinson has performed far better, in a worse situation for RB success. The Dolphins are winning games and can run more often than the Jags who are usually playing from behind.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 6:36 am Gaskin and Robinson feel like 1 in the same to me. I know it's splitting hairs, but gaskin didn't start the first 2 weeks. If he got the same volume he did wk3-6, his rushing and receiving yardage would probably be pretty similar to Robinson. Probably the biggest difference thus far would be the TDs. Robinson has 6 TDs and Gaskin only has 1.
