The only other players with 27 touches in a game so far this season:

Zeke, JT, Jacobs, Henry.
He was extremely inefficient with those carries. I saw nothing in this guy that suggested any long term value in the player. I don't know what the Dolphins are doing, and why they aren't using Breida more, but Gaskin is the epitome of a JAG, to me.
I firmly believe MIA drafts a RB in 2021. Ideally, I'm trying to either ride Gaskin through early byes and then flip him.

With RB being such a mess, that volume and receiving work ought to keep as a low end rb2 in ppr this season.
For sure. Agree with this.

Yeah I think everyone will agree he's probably not a long term guy. Best case is they bring in competition that isn't a bell cow and he keeps a receiving back role, like early career James White. That said, if everyone agrees then he's a tough sell.
Their schedule looks tough until week 9, when they finally get AZ, jets twice, and the Bengals. Rough schedule with the dolphins young OL is not a recipe for efficient RB numbers. But it the line is improved for that stretch Gaskin (or Breida if Gaskin doesn't hold up) will be pretty useable.

He and James Robinson are the same, ride them through the season, then if you arent in contention anymore, you sell. I gave up a 3rd for him and if i can get a second for him back later on in the year ill be happy.

Wish FPPT Guy was still around so we could all have some fun with him about CEH replacing the uber elite Damien Williams.

I donno what game last night some of you watched but Gaskins looked solid. Nice burst, some exceptional cutbacks and broke tackles regularly. Miami's line isn't very good and most of the second half they just ran him to grind the clock. 22 carries he was tackled for a loss twice. He also had 5 carries over 5 yards. I am not beating the drum this guy is a league winner but he actually looks good on a team that cant block very well.

Based on Flores moves so far I highly doubt a high pick goes into a RB next year. If the O line isn't coming along good enough they will draft there and work on the defensive side before looking to upgrade at RB. Solid chance Gaskins can play into a rb2/flex as the team improves around him. Miami didn't want him to be the RB1 but he has basically run Breida and Howard off the field against the coaches plans.

All and all no ones gonna pay enough to be worth moving him right now so sit and see. Probably RB2 ceiling but I think guaranteed touches for a couple years so not a bad bench player.

While I agree he is very useful this year, i'd be shocked if they didn't use one of the half a dozen early picks on an RB unless the 2021 is that devoid of talent. My guess is defense and oline will be the priority, but they will want legit top tier playmakers.

I thought that too but they had ample chances to get a RB this year to pair with Tua but chose to patch it with Howards signing and Breidas trade. So I am thinking unless Etienne falls on them its not gonna happen. Flores wants a fast elusive guy more than power which I think is why Howard quickly became the goal line guy. Etienne fits what he apparently wants perfectly but I don't think they will spend the draft capital to land him this early in the rebuild.

Anecdotal, but it was wisely believed by miami reporters and fans they were about to draft Dobbins, but he went 1 pick in front of them.
I think with as many day 1-2 picks on board, they likely see rb as a value at some point. They will likely prioritize wr and lb, but as it right now they have 4 top 40 picks.

If his receiving pace holds, he'll finish top 5 at the position in receptions.

I think he should be valued at least where Tarik Cohen is currently, as I think he's actually the better player of the two.

I drafted Gaskin with the last pick in nearly every draft last year. I held onto him as long as I could, and in the leagues I did I'm super happy. With all of these injuries to players I own (CMC, Barkley, Mostert, etc) Gaskin has been the guy I filled in.

He's the kind of guy you hold if you have and not much else. What could you possibly get back? Maybe a 2nd to a desperate owner? Unless he blows up, just start him in games and enjoy the ride for now.

Welp, starting over Mixon for now in PPR. Didn't see this coming week 4 with my "3 rb1s" for 2 spots, but since 2 of those were Saquon and Joey 2YPC, here we are.

In the same boat. Starting him over Mixon this week. Crazy thought...

Interested to see him with Tua running the O.
