Agree with the bolded. Not a long term fix

Not so much with the rest. He seems to have a solid PPR floor and has been the most productive (king of bleep mountain but still) RB on the team--that makes for a FLEX start

I'm going to try to flip him for AJ Dillon

Not sure why the aren't using Breida more. What was the point in trading for him?

Gaskin has looked better than Breida. I assume they wanted Breida to play this role when they made the trade, but Gaskin just beat him out in camp.

I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

I guess so. But he'd still probably be one of the weaker flex plays in your league and I'm not sure keep giving him this role through the year.

Thought he had some nice catches. Going to be tough to rely on him for a lot of points in that offense, but with injuries stacking and bye weeks coming, I'm sure he will be in my lineup some more
Seems like a solid flex/bye option.

This may be true, which would turn him into a hold.

I feel like there's some lazy box score scouting going on in this thread. Miami's OL is starting 2 rookies and 2 free agents, with another rookie rotating in in Robert Hunt. Their only return starter from last year is a UDFA 2nd year guy in Jesse Davis. The run blocking right now is not very good, as you would expect with that much inexperience and the little time they've played together. Unlike last year they appear to have some actual NFL caliber linemen, so I'm confident it will improve over the season.
I don't think Gaskin loses his role because his ypc was low after the 1st drive. He looks like the best RB in Miami to me (saying that as a fins fan more than a Gaskin and Breida owner) and he has both the passing game role in catch up mode and gets carries to salt the game away when they are winning. He clearly doesn't have the GL role, but I think he's got a pretty safe floor rest of season in PPR. If I'm contending and my RB depth has taken a hit, I'd probably pay a late 2nd for that.
That said, he's not special and isn't good enough to consistently make something out of nothing, so I doubt he's getting 20+ carries at any point in 2021. But I could see him staying in a role kind of like James White early career in NE.

Gaskin's 22 carries were the most by a Dolphins player since Kenyan Drake had 25 on Dec. 11, 2017.

The only other players with 27 touches in a game so far this season:

Zeke, JT, Jacobs, Henry.
16 team league
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
26 upman rosters - full point ppr
2015, 17, 18, 19, 20 Champs

QB: Watson, Flacco Stidham
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, McLaughlin
WR: Olave, Addison, Flowers, Rice, Sutton, Downs, Mims, Tillman
TE: Kittle, Goedert, Chig, Woods

He was extremely inefficient with those carries. I saw nothing in this guy that suggested any long term value in the player. I don't know what the Dolphins are doing, and why they aren't using Breida more, but Gaskin is the epitome of a JAG, to me.

Wouldn't this be league dependent? Two of my leagues are deep rosters, so finding guys to put in your flex spots that can score 10 every week is a big plus. In 12+ team leagues he looks to be a solid flex.

Also, one consideration no1 is mentioning is that when Tua eventually takes the helm this offense will look different. Could be good or could be bad for Gaskin, but he's a pretty cheap flex option that has some good pontial upside. This year.

Dat TD rate tho. Imagine if he got 20 carries. He'd have 16 yards and 8 TDs

I firmly believe MIA drafts a RB in 2021. Ideally, I'm trying to either ride Gaskin through early byes and then flip him.

With RB being such a mess, that volume and receiving work ought to keep as a low end rb2 in ppr this season.
