Myles Gaskin

Postby Orenthal Shames » Tue Sep 22, 2020 2:00 pm

Through 2 weeks:

- He's a RB2 (rb24) in ppr
- Top 4 in RB targets
- Top 8 in yards after contact
- Top 10 in yards per attempt

He seems quick, decisive, has good vision & contact balance and is very effective as a receiver. He also has an elite collegiate production profile (14th all-time in rushing).

While he has gotten the majority of the touches in Miami, the overall volume hasn't been huge.

What do you guys think of him going forward?

Quality PPR flex option

Wish he'd get some goal line work to hit low RB2 status but the committee caps him a bit

I've owned him a few times last year and this. Minimal competition so he was worth a stash at times. Hes a good looking RB, but his value will be capped by poor game scripts, poor offense, and RBBC. If I could find a buyer at a 2nd at some point I'll jump on it.

picked him up in my dynasty. He's the best rb on MIA...i thought it would be Breida but Gaskin is the RB right now and probably only gonna get better. I though they would use him mostly on passing downs but he's leading in carries and recs. He's one big game away from having some good value

He was one of my late round stashes last year.

Not the best athlete, but was a highly productive RB at Washington-- 1300 yards as a true freshman.

He hasn't gotten the hype of a guy like James Robinson, but has been just as effective with his opportunity. Hoping as the matchups get easier he sees more work.

While I don't buy "minimal competition," I do buy trading Gaskin away.

What I can't figure out is what MIA eventually wants out of Breida, who I think is their best RB of the top 3. But it may not matter on this team, which would be a disappointing but unsurprising waste of (fantasy) talent.

I wouldn't call Howard and breida prime competition either. Both were relatively cheap adds for Miami as a rebuilding team that isn't ready to spend on a feature back.

I don't think the value is there to sell yet. I wouldn't sell for a 3rd and I doubt most would give a 2nd currently.

While none of the RB contacts are significant, it's a real indictment on Howard, whose contract was the biggest and who has basically been relegated to a TD vulture role.

Breida is the best athlete of the 3, but that may be it. He was never going to be the main back. He's sub 200 and has one of the highest injury probabilities and fragility ratings of any player in the league.

Miami beat reporters said Gaskin looked the best of the 3 in camp and now he's producing like it in games. Gamescript was poor against NE and Buffalo, but hoping as the schedule softens there is more opportunity to be had. Even with the poor game flow, he's been a low end rb2 in ppr.

Yep, agree Gaskin looks like a hit so far this year, but dynasty-wise, not as excited.

Agreed. In dynasty setting he is a flip for me.

He doesn't have enough value to be flipped yet

A Thursday night blowup could change that though

I don't mean flip him this second. I mean the goal of a player like this is to flip him. And for the love of god, let's not turn this into a James Robinson thread about market timing.

I think they brought in Breida to do what Gaskin is doing, Gaskin just beat him out in camp.
I liked Gaskin at Washington. He seemed like kind of an arbitrage Devin Singletary last year. Like most UDFAs, he's probably going to turn back into a pumpkin, so I'm all for selling for a 2nd or packaging up to a young RB I like more. But as others stated, he's probably not there yet.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
