What's the scenario where Burrow is better later?
- He suddenly gets DeAndre Hopkins on his team
- He suddenly becomes the 2nd best rushing QB threat in the league whilst maintaining an elite deep arm
- He gets a good coach called Bling Bliffsbury who, whilst having his flaws, designs him a juiced up modern offense to play within
- He doesn't get crushed to bits and remains one of the most elusive QB's we've ever seen break the pocket

I believe it looks something like that. Did I miss anything?

Well first off, I should point out, I play in 6 pt per TD pass leagues. Don't like 4. Too much emphasis on rushing QB's. The scenario where is better, is where he throws for 4500 plus yards, and 30- 35 TD's a year, while putting up 400 plus yards and 4 TD's on the ground or so. Not sure how many rushing yards Kyler will put up, but I feel pretty confident that Burrow can outpace him as a passer.

Curious if football outsiders counts INT's in that accuracy? Seriously, he threw 7 INT's on deep balls. That metric doesn't account for completions percentage, just whether it was near the target or not. He's 6th in percentage, so definitely up there, but overall Murray's YPA have been very low so far, so I think there is definitely a chance for Burrow to outscore Kyler down the line. As I noted to OCR, I play mostly 6 pts per TD pass, and think Burrow can out pace him it TD passes and yards down the line, if not right away.

Does Burrow have the athleticism to rush for 400 yards consistently? I think not. He has good pocket movement and can scramble when the middle of the field is left wide open for him, but overall he is average athleticism amongst QBs.

He's currently on pace for over 500 this year. We'll see if he reaches it, but he definitely has the athleticism to do it, it just depends on how often he runs. They are using him as a runner, his rushing TD week 1 was a designed QB run, and he scored from around 20 yards out.

I thought 400 was a lot too but it's only 25 a game haha

I think he has enough athleticism to get close to that, but he took some big shots Thursday night so maybe they should try to keep him upright in the pocket...

I think so, yes. 25 yards a game isn't that difficult. He's over that through 2 games.

400 isn't that much. Murray is over 1/5 of the way there through one game. The rushing upside of Murray is what makes him a better fantasy asset in my leagues. He also is excellent at avoiding hits. Burrow is more like Allen in that he still thinks he needs that extra yard by taking contact or diving head first.

Is he startable already?
I'm pulling Cousins in favor of him next week and was looking at QB trade targets and...... not good. Really outside the top-8 QBs, why wouldn't you start a guy throwing 40+ times a game with rushing upside? As long as he doesn't end up on a hospital bed at halftime I think his 16 points from week 1 might be closer to his floor.

I'm starting him over baker next week. Its time for Burrow and Minshew to bring me to the ship! I did drop him in my redraft because I have mahomes. There are too many qbs available for his bye, so I i dont need a second.

Give me kyler in dynasty. I believe he is being underrated as a passer.

But all those big hits came when he was in the pocket. Smart quarterbacks know how not to get hit when they run.

Umm not all of them. I recall one where he was scrambling and tried to spin move Sheldon Richardson and got man-handled. There was another play similar where he was not in the pocket. Either way, they should give him some better OL asap

That wasn't a big hit at all, Richardson just grabbed him and threw him on the ground.

Mostly playing devil’s advocate here, but not entirely. Yes, he’s shown a willingness to bounce back and his coaches clearly have confidence in him as he’s thrown more than any other QB in the league so far. However, statistically he’s been worse than Mitch Trubisky in most major rate categories and he’s 0-2 after playing two very beatable teams. He’s been unable to establish much of anything outside of underneath throws to Boyd and the TEs and he’s got a YPA of 5.2.

I get that his offensive line is bad, but he’s also not running an Arians system where he’s expected to take deep drop backs on every play and look deep.

I still have Herbert and Dak ahead of him and would probably move Allen ahead of him at this point leaving him at around QB9 and while that looks good its mostly driven by the large number of old starters in the league.

I have Burrow and would easily trade him for Kyler. That oline in Cincy is awful(And I'm not sure I trust Cincy to address it) Burrow has such a short time to make reads. If he does get time he rarely makes mistakes. But, even though for now he is poised and in control, at some point I wonder if he gets tired of being smashed up, aka, David Carr, Andrew Luck, etc. You can only get rocked for so long before you get the jitters.
