I hear you. The only other young guy I've always been super-down on since he was drafted is N'Keal Harry. Though in fairness, at least Mixon has looked decent sometimes.

Who knows though, it's just one game and they just threw a gigantic sack of money at him.
The Bengals coaching staff is terrible. If they would have watched this guy at OU they should know that he has excellent hands. 1 catch for 2 yards on 2 targets is terrible. Try getting the guy the ball in some space.

Mixon is a beast. It wasn't his best game clearly, but the line isn't great. 100% agree that he should be featured in the receiving game. He is amazing in the open field and was extremely good at OU in the receiving game. He has really great vision/patience. The line and overall offense has made him look a lot worse the last few years. Throw him in the Saints offense and see what he'll do...

We all knew LAC RB targets would drop without Rivers, but Ekeler saw ONE target. If his receiving usage plummets and Josh Kelley is being primarily used at the goal line, he's in a for a rough fantasy year.

Its one game. We need to be careful about small sample sizes, with almost no off season. He was alway going to take a hit in targets, but I don't expect this to be the norm. t's going to be very tough to predict much of anything in the first few weeks.

No question nothing is definitive after a week, but concern can be raised. Ekeler/Kelley had a 60/40 split in carries and Kelley dominated red zone touches.

Mixon's season opener last year: 6 carries, 10 yards

In fact, he wasn't good (and more importantly the Bengals run blocking wasn't) for the first half of last season.

He finished the season really strong with 4 100+ rushing games.

I'll never own Mixon and wouldn't value him at his current ADP, but stating the obvious....it's a long season. If you were willing to value Mixon as an elite RB asset after he stunk for 8 games last year, you'll probably be willing to do it again.

Things I saw Week 1 w potentially biggest fantasy implications
- Hopkins volume concerns erased. WR1 overall back in play.
- Ekeler 1 target. Owners need that to change.
- Mack injury and Colts RBs target share. Taylor and Hines could both be great this year.
- Are they gonna let Russ Cook finally???
- Hunt out-touch Chubb 17 to 11. 13 to 10 carries as well. Gulp for Chubb owners.
- Josh Jacobs target share = major upside.

Smaller / less surprising but still notable:
- Hollywood everything we hoped for.
- Dobbins right out the gate.
- Lions spend 2nd rd picks on RBs and give AP lead-dog volume.
- Pats O has a lot to like for Cam.
- Kamara looks good now that he's healthy.
- Joe Burrow looked as advertised.
- Calvin Ridley as this year's Godwin is on pace.
- Paris Campbell looked good, and Rivers was looking at him often.

I think the 49ers are in for a bit of a rough year. They probably won't completely bottom out because they are so well coached and the D is strong, but the D is not going to be as good as it was last year and they clearly have the 4th best QB in the division.

Anyone watch the Falcons game and have any thoughts on Gurley? Looks like his day was saved by the TD but I also just saw that he only played 45% of snaps?

That's how Gurley was last year. He was TD dependent and I imagine he'll remain that way this year.

"Todd Gurley may have dominated the workload, as he handled nearly 78 percent of the running back carries Sunday."

So he played 45% of snaps, but had 78% of the carries. So they played from behind and threw a lot. I don't like it either, but he's still going to be given all he can handle and ran until he runs out of gas. The question is do you like Ito Smith or Hill for when it does happen?

No one should be defending that trade for the texans; it was abysmal when it was made and still terrible
