Mitch Trubisky named starter - what's to do (POLL)

Postby Wizard » Sat Sep 05, 2020 3:01 pm

So I've got Mitch Trubisky in a few SF leagues as a 4th QB, what's everyone's opinion of what to do with him? Trade him now before he plays? What would he be worth? Or hold a few games and hope he plays well, then sell. Or hang on to him and hope he keeps the job and you have a 4th QB (which sounds great if he can do it).

I don't believe that Trubisky is an NFL QB. He won't last year, and he won't have anything more than passable success. At best, I see him as a career backup, perhaps even struggling to stay in the league. That's just my assessment. If it were me, I'd sell for $.80, $.70, or even $.50 on the dollar now because, as soon as he steps on the field, I think his value tanks. I'll let someone else buy, roster him, hope that he's somehow relevant, and reap the rewards if the seemingly impossible comes to pass.

Otherwise, odds are that you just end up dropping him or trading him for a fifth-round pick next off-season.

This was the predicted outcome as it's easier to start with Mitch and pivot to files than it is to start foles and pivot to Mitch. If honestly sell for a 2nd I have no faith he lasts longer than 4 or 5 weeks

I got him in a few places as throwin for a larger deal. I expected him to remain the starter, but I'm no way confident he keeps that job. I'd be selling if he gains any sort of market.

I've also had zero luck trading for Foles, as most of the Foles owners still think he's the Eagles Superbowl MVP caliber Foles, rather than the guy who just got beat by mustache man and Trubisky. I have a feeling the bears will be looking for a QB next year, and quite possibly with a new head coach to go along with him.

As a Bears fan I hope we get a new coach and a new GM. One that won't pass on the next Mahomes. I hate Nagy as a coach with a passion. I hated the signing of both Pace and Nagy when they happened.

As a Bears fan I hope the McCaskey family sells the team. They won't be good until they have ownership that thinks about winning over just revenue. Until then they will skimp on scouting and they will hire coaches and GMs who fit in their budget rather than who will be successful.

Get whatever you can for Mitch before he is worth absolutely nothing.

Bears gonna Bear

They gave Foles $22.5M guaranteed with Cam and Jameis were available. Their guarantees ended up only $148k and $550k.

Just looked up the Bears’ schedule. You could probably roll the dice and hope he starts strong against the Lions and Giants, but I’d definitely be trying to sell after week 2.

Enough with the Jameis stuff. Hes garbage. You can't win with him at all, and he doesn't seem like the greatest locker room influence. He can put up some points, but he isnt a leader and he will make too many poor decisions.
