At this point, the stars are starting to align. At what point do we just throw our hands up and say “This is the guy”. You can see the value only going up from here once he busts out 100+ scrimmage yards and a TD on 8 touches. Rivera has been talking him up and now the organization has been backing that up with moves that benefit Gibson. We know he’s a work in progress, we know he has immense talent, we know the comments that have been made, and I think they’re really going to give this kid a shot to see what he can do. The writing is on the wall at this point. Hope you have your shares come next Sunday boyz.
Most I would pay for the hype would be a late 1st. Still not giving up anything of immense value for the hype until we see him on the field... but damn. This is exciting! Situations like is what makes FF fun! Let the Gibson train keep rolling 🚂

Another poster mentioned it earlier. You had to see this coming. Rivera doesn't do fluff talk. He saw a McCaffery clone to plug into his system and it's going to work. Peterson didn't fit it, Barber doesn't either but will get short yardage work. It is Gibson time and by midseason Love will be his #2.

AP being cut has no impact on Gibson, his gadget plays are already in the offense. They are still manufactured gadget plays and I still dont understand how people are this hyped over someone who is gonna see 10 touches a game on a admittedly horrible team. I personally double down on Love still.

Annnd he’s been released. Here we goooo
This is going to be comedic. Bryce Love, here we gooooo!

Is this a counter tank job for Lawrence, vs the Jags????

The funny part is, Peyton Barber may be the early down back, now. But seriously, he's the likely week 1 early down back.

This is offence is like the Jags. I am thinking it's Tank for Trevor vs Flopping for Fields with the Jags.
If the Potatoes do tank, I'd expect guys like McLaurin will lose production/snaps/games towards the end of the season.

Of his 10 touches a game, 4-5 at least will be dump-offs into the open where he will be able to move. I can see 4-5 carries for 25 yards, 4-5 catches for another 40 yards right out of the gate. In my ppr leagues that translates to 10 points a game floor. Floor. Once he has his bearings, things will add up and he'll get more chances. I don't understand (actually I do because of his minimal usage in college) why some are NOT hyped.

That is not worth a 1st rnd pick IMO. Its not that I hate the guys chances but hard pass at that price.

No way. The Rams could be looking for yet another back after this year. Akers is nothing special. Gibson has at least some special attributes

4.9 ypc for college career. He's nothing special. He is a nice compliment and a solid pro most likely, but he's probably not a work horse. I get wanting him over Gibson though because of the team and the lack of competition

Obviously his YPC will go down with the increase in carries as he progresses. I'm expecting these numbers in the beginning. As he improves and gets more touches, his fantasy points per game will go up. So, "no" to your question. His biggest damage will be getting the short passes in space. On a limited usage 2019 season he averaged over 11 yards per carry and over 19 yards per reception. Hopes are high but to each their own. I'd rather get him early before he shows what he has. I certainly understand (and respect) what the naysayers are saying. I just don't think they're correct.

I can't believe this is a question. Akers is nothing special? Dude was the top RB target on LAR's board. He has the best feet (size adjusted) in this class. A former #1 overall RB recruit out of highschool, freshman breakout, 3 down game. Size, speed, physicality, receiving ability. We'll see about his vision. Targeted by the offense that threw the most passes in the NFL last season and is paired with the boy genius as his HC.

Akers. All. Day.
