Well, 62 yards on 4 catches on 8 targets last week... not blowinf things up, but at least he’s being relatively consistent and at getting some targets. If they end up with Lawrence and fire Gase (that have to fire Gase, right? RIGHT???) he couldn’t be solid next year.

I think that's the play people are hoping for. This Jets team is awful and they are in the driver's seat for Lawrence or Fields at the worst. If that happens, Mims becomes a big breakout candidate in a new offense presumably.

As a Mims hater and owner both I will say considering the cesspit that is the Jets offense he is doing really well. Assuming Gase is fired he has a solid shot of being a legit NFL starter. That will really depend on who the new coach is. I would temper even the most optimistic projections though with the fact that even Lawrence isn't going to magically make the O-line block better and he cant be the QB and the RB so I would be stunned if Mims gives noteworthy results before year 3.

maybe, but look at the bengals: their o-line is bad and burrow is sustaining two WRs. has to throw it about 60 times a week to do that, but it's not like the jets have a good D either.

He looked really good again yesterday, i swear if he werent getting mugged on every play by the DBs he would have had around 150 yards yesterday. I think he had at least 3 large PI calls on him yesterday. He still needs a true breakout game but if you watch him he looks really good. For those who dont have him try to get him now while he can still be had for cheap. One of the catches he made was absolutely fantastic, a deep shot down the sideline that he had to fully extend his arms for in order to make the play.

I don't think anyone is going to move him for cheap right now unless they haven't been paying attention. He's probably worth a late 1st right now based on what we've seen and the fact that the Jets have the clearest pathway to Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields

Been a while since we've talked about Mims, and a lot has certainly happened! Jets sign Davis... Jets draft Moore... Mims gets food poisoning and loses 20 lbs... rumors of him being cut or traded...

Are people bailing yet? I tried trading him straight up for a 2021 2nd and couldn't get it. Now seeing some better news and considering holding.

I'm not selling given where his price is. He's a hold.

Same here. His value is so low now that I'd rather hold him.

I’m holding as well. Honestly, I was more excited about the idea of him being traded than him moving up the depth chart.

This, and in agreement with the previous two posts as well. I still think he could be something in the league. It's just clear he doesn't fit the vision of what the new coaching staff is looking for. If they move him, maybe he'll get a shot. I'd rather see if that happens then sell him for a random 3rd, or whatever...

Selling; for the same reason you sell N'Keal Harry.

Find the right owner i e. someone who is in full rebuild looking for cheap shots. Or use Mims as a throw in to upgrade a starter if it all possible.

These types of fantasy WRs are in the red. Meaning if they don't do something soon their value drops to zero you won't get anything in return. If they're on the cusp and they don't perform - the only thing left is to hope for a trade... Yeah. You don't want to wait til then. When does that ever work?? You've taken the player out if it and now just waiting for a biscuit to fall on your lap.

I shy away from that type of risk. I'd rather get something, even if it is a late rookie dart throw.

" When does that ever work ? "

Davante Adams comes to mind 😏

For us old school heads Herman Moore , Eric Moulds , etc... How many do you want us to list ?

Covid year w/ no training camp, injured and git behind w/ new coaching staff due to food poisoning so you guve him away for peanuts ?

Another believer here whose willing to be patient. You've got to trust your scouting. There was enough good about Mims profile coming out of college to make the juice worth the squeeze. We still haven't gotten to properly see it, simply flashes of it. And those flashes have been good.

Sub 4.4 6"3 215lb receivers with sticky mitts don't just grow on trees. He has all the tools, and we know he can put it together thanks to his college tape. He needs time to get healthy, learn this system, and to get chemistry with Wilson. If you think he's going to ride the bench all year in a 17 game season, you're crazy. Injuries will happen, or he'll turn it around - either way, he's going to get his chances on the field. The Jets are just as keen to know what they have as we are.

They're crying out for another legit playmaker on offense. It can't just be all Elijah Moore and Corey Davis. They have a young QB who can make the outside throws. If you're selling before you've really gotten to "see" the ceiling of it all, and because you can't imagine how it would work, then I think that's a failure of imagination, and an inability to trust your own scouting process, and that you're selling prematurely.

I'd gladly scoop for a 3rd right now if an owner wanted to bail. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, if you own him, I don’t see how you could do anything but hold. The regret you’ll feel for not cashing out now for a 3rd round pick if he winds up flaming out pales in comparison to the regret you’ll feel if you sell for a 3rd now and he hits.
