How is Goff below average?

The year the Rams went to the SB, he threw for 4688, 32 TD, 12 INT, 101.1 passer rating

See what he looked like when Gurley went from Hulk to Banner and when the OL regressed. He rode 3 stud WRs, peak Gurley, an elite OL, a Wade Phillips coached D and the refs to a Super Bowl and got thoroughly unmasked

He can be above average when everything else is perfect. Otherwise he is below average with a mediocre supporting cast. TBD how he will be when the supporting cast is bad (like the Rams figure to have in coming years with their cap and draft pick management)

so he had one of the worst olines in the league and no running game to speak of most games. now he's below average because he didn't light up the league? ok.

He's below average because he needs everything to be perfect to be just above average (2018)

Dak isn't anywhere near elite but I am not going to go full hater and say he's equal to or worse than trash like Goff and Garoppolo

He's a fringe top 10ish QB. Those guys are actively bad and torpedo their teams’ chances

what a load of crap.
You're right. Jared Goff is a load of crap. Not even a little crap: a little crap would have won that Super Bowl when Wade Phillips, Aaron Donald and co shut New England down :D

You do realize Dak has had pretty much all those advantages you listed for Goff (elite RB, OL, receivers, talented D) and Goff has been better. Goff > Dak.

Dak was just as bad against NE last year as Goff was in the SB.

McVay vs Garrett and Linehan

Dak hasn’t had elite weapons all his career at all. I recall Cole Beasley, washed Witten, washed Dez who is since unemployed and Terrance Williams as his supporting cast for 2017 and half of 2018

Only second half of 2018 and 2019 did Cooper come and Gallup start to emerge and later break out

And don’t even compare the Rams and Cowboys defenses

You're clearly just still salty about Goff beating Mahomes is that MNF shootout.

He was pretty bad but still not as bad as Goff and came closer to winning....all against a better Pats D than the 2018 version that got sliced by Mahomes in the second half two weeks prior and by Marcus Mariota and Blake Bortles earlier in the season

The caliber of discussion has declined so precipitously here. Arguing whether Dak is elite, like you’re on First Take? Saying competent QBs like Goff and Garoppolo are “actively bad” when guys like Haskins and Mason Rudolph player football last year? When did this place become the PFT comments? None of the arguments are good or even based in any type of fact, it’s just shouting your substance-free opinions into the void.

Between this and DLF protecting use of the word r*pe by squashing any discussion, it’s just embarrassing.

Why’d I be salty?
We still got the 1 seed that year just couldn’t take out Brady

At least we went down guns blazing in overtime and not in a whimper scoring 3 points

Besides both teams (Rams and Chiefs) chose to pay their QBs and both are set to have their present and future shaped by that decision
