Over the ten plus years of this forum, I've seen various threads on interesting rules and setups, whether discussed hypothetically or currently used in a league.

Hoping to pin this thread so other threads can be linked here and future discussions put in this one thread.

I specifically remember CoD's idea that you put up there about a league with a franchise run by 2 or 3 owners. One does the roster and the other does the lineup is how I remember it. I wonder how that played out.

I also remember another one that involved big, medium, and small markets. You could join the league for $50 or $35 or $25... something like that. Then during the startup draft the teams that paid $50 would have twice as much bidding power as the teams who paid $25. I'm going by memory, but I think that's accurate. That league was created, I wonder how that's going too.

I've been tinkering with a new league for the past three years that I still haven't started called the Dynasty Playoff Alliance. The general idea is that every week is an all-play format, and the top 4 of each week joins a 4-team play-in bracket that's played out the next two weeks. The winner of each bracket earns a spot in the actual playoff bracket starting week 12.

The purpose is to give each team a chance to make the playoffs from the first week to the last, thus disincentivizing tanking. I tested it over the last two years and it went well. The top 6 teams earned the most playoff spots -- almost all of them -- and the bottom teams earned one or two. The better teams always won in the end.
