No RB to my knowledge has come back from this injury. He would be arguably the most talented to attempt it, though. If you have the roster space, hold, and try and throw him into a deal at some point. Chances are this is a career ender, though. At least in terms of FF relevance.
Yeah I was racking my brain thinking of someone who has come back from this........rare injury for a RB. Mack is a shot out of cannon type too, clearly this will limit that.

Going to be a long road.

He was looking good, too. 4 for 26 on the ground, 3 for 30 receiving with 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. He probably could have signed somewhere next year to be the lead in a committee, now, it's not looking good. Really too bad. It might be 2 years before he's on a roster again. At least it happened week 1, the only good thing you can say. He has the max amount of time to rehab and recover to try and get a contract next year at some point.

I have always loved Mack real heart breaker. Now JT is the starter but that offense better get it together because yikes!

I agree about Mack. I own him in a few leagues, that are shallow rosters and I’m dropping him. It sucks for him but I can’t roster someone for a year that’s hurt and may not come back next season on time or ever. I loved J.Taylor, especially after he landed in Indy, I own him in a bunch of leagues and can’t wait to see what he’s going to do with this extra work.

Really, really unfortunate to see for Mack. He was about to be a free agent and get a contract. I feel terrible for him.

Don't think the OP is flexing here... Most people were spot on with valuation of a late 2nd at the time anyway. Not like you can lose much more value than that, but he's only a 3rd at this point

Haha I wish it was a flex. I ended up being convinced to hold him and now he's hanging out with Kerryon and Ke'Shawn Vaughn on my bench. Pretty much un-tradable after an achilles + re-sign

Either Vegas or I am completely misreading this situation. I may have to see if I can find an online service that takes propositions.
Coach is known for riding multiple backs. Taylor will eventually get more load as the season progresses, but people think Taylor is going to dominate snaps from jump.

Mack isn't worth more than a speculative 2nd at this point. Even his FA odds aren't that exciting given how full the position is across the board.
I ended up calling this right. First game, Mack was clearly still going to get significant touches. Him and Taylor likely would've had a Kamara/Ingram type split with Hines sprinkled in.

But now, Taylor is clearly the guy and Mack will spell him some. I look at the Colts re-signing him as almost guilt, since he decided to play the season without a contract and completely lost all of his negotiating power and value.

It sucks for him, but this is why RBs especially need to hold out.

I think he may get more work than you think. Frank has always been public about his desire to have a multi back approach. IF Mack is back to his old self, which is no guarantee, I see 5-10 touches a game. I do agree the re-sign was a loyalty thing

Is much of his deal guaranteed? I mean, if I'm Indy I'd feel very comfortable with a healthy does of JT and Hines. Mack was good. He won't get back to that level again. He's good depth but still

Mack tore his achilles I believe. Usually takes a couple years to get that burst back. Worse than an ACL.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
