Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
RB: Michael Carter, hes already very good in passing game (though pass blocking will be an obvious concern) and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. He's also very well built and runs hard for a smaller back. He's in heavy contention for my RB4, among a few others.
WR: Tylan Wallace, because I always fall in love with guys like his profile at WR, lol.
TE: Brevin Jordan. I'm desperately hoping he goes somewhere in the Shanahan-type offensive tree (though obviously not San Fran, haha). Definitely needs to improve as a blocker to get on the field in a meaningful way, but he is built like a huge rb and is fantastic after the catch. If he goes to the right system, I could see him rising into the top 10 range of tight ends pretty quickly.

Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
Jermar Jefferson - Oregon State. 21 years old. 5'10", 215lbs.
Three star recruit who broke out as a true frosh in 2018 - 239 attempts, 1380 yards rushing. Also caught 25 balls for 147 yards. 12 TD's total.
Suffered an injury as a Sophomore which opened the door for Artavis Pierce to emerge during the 2019 season.
Re-emerged for his truncated junior season, where he averaged 143 yards per game on 6.5 yards per carry (858 yards total). Also scored 7 TD's with 9 receptions for 67 yards. Pac 12 only played six games due to the COVID. If you extrapolate his totals over a ten game season your looking at 1,400 yards and 11 TD's with approximately 20 receptions.
Against their toughest competition of the season, the 15th ranked in state rival Oregon Ducks, he had his best game. 29 carries, 226 yards and 2 TD's.
Here are some mouth watering highlights from his breakout SZN - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFPgWYJMiuA
Summary - he's young with a great BMI and an early breakout with the ability to produce both running and catching the ball. Will be interested to see where he lands in the draft, but I think he has tremendous ability and upside and will be a middle to early round 2 rookie draft pick.

Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
I know this is going to come across as incredibly lazy, but I know there are folks here who have dug into this far more than I will be able to do. I usually move my draft picks for proven commodities (usually try to stay young and proven though) so I don't typically do a deep dive at draft time, but more keep an eye on the top of the draft and jump in if compelled.
I have a solid handle on the top 10 prospects for 2021 at this point, but for those of you who have already begun deep-diving, who are a few guys I should be looking into that would be in the 2.10 range this year? League is 10 team, non-SF, full PPR, no TE prem so I guess I'm looking for your favorite #15-25 range prospects.
Thanks!

Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
He feels like one of those guys that I like early, but when people see his size, early production, maybe a surge for workouts or landing spot, he climbs too high for me. That was Vaughn last year (not really comparing the two as players)
Draft capital is gonna tell me what I need to know about him. He goes in the third, I’m interested (but again he probably surges in cost). He goes 6th or later, meh.

I feel similarly. Hes just a guy to me. Hes certainly not bad, but his landing spot will mean everything to my interest in him.honcho55 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 1:20 pmHe feels like one of those guys that I like early, but when people see his size, early production, maybe a surge for workouts or landing spot, he climbs too high for me. Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
There's a dearth of RB talent this year and he's a tier 2 back for me. Landing spot is critical for all the tier 2/3/4 RB's. I believe the juice is worth the squeeze with this young buck.tresskid84 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 1:29 pmI feel similarly. Hes just a guy to me. Tier 1: Javonte Williams, Najee Harris & Etienne
Tier 2: Jermar Jefferson...etc.

Talk me into Javonte over Jermar (and Hubbard for that matter) because I see them pretty similarly as tier 3 RB prospects.FastEddie wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 5:21 pmThere's a dearth of RB talent this year and he's a tier 2 back for me. Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
Jevonta looks better in pretty much every aspect IMO. He’s bigger, he looks faster, catches more balls, averages more ypc, breaks more tackles, scores more touchdowns - pretty much everything.
He’ll have higher draft capital as well.
He’ll have higher draft capital as well.
Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
5'10 220 vs 5'10 217
Both of these guys are fast for their size, which one's faster? Maybe Javonte, maybe Jermrar but in any case I don't expect it to be a huge advantage for either.
Jermar's got that true freshman breakout where he caught 25 balls (which is pretty impressive). Both of these guys could possibly be 3 down backs, I wouldn't say either has a clear advantage in this area at this point in time.
Javonte and him both break a ton of tackles and display good contact balance. I like Javonte a little more in this area, but it could just be a difference in run styles. Javonte runs more like a power back, Jermar a slasher.
Playing with Sam Howell at UNC is also very different from playing at Oregon St. so I'm not going to bother comparing YPC, TDs between them lol.
We'll see if he ends up with higher draft capital. I somewhat lean Javonte but at this point I don't see him so much better he deserves a different tier. Maybe some impressive pro day numbers or vastly divergent draft capital will change that, though

Re: Who is your "guy" for this upcoming rookie class?
I’m not seeing the Javonte Williams hype. On tape he looks good and breaks tackles against collegiate athletes, but what matters at the next level high percentile athleticism in some aspect (speed, strength, quickness) plus those intangibles. Williams may have those traits, but it doesn’t look like it.
Jermar Jefferson is an interesting prospect because he looks to have high level speed and as said above will seriously be interested in draft capital/test scores.
Najee Harris and Javonte Williams shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence lol. Harris 230 pounds and is blowing past much better defenders/defenses

I may or may not be related to Bryan Edwards
