Josh Rosen?

Postby Space Cowboy » Wed May 20, 2020 12:48 pm

Any hope here? Haven't heard a peep in months. That's not good! You'd think someone may want to offer a conditional late round pick, but no, nothing.

In my superflex league I would offer a late round pick (late 3rd/early 4th), but I only have an early 5th rounder and I don't want to insult that owner.

I was really hoping to see him traded during the draft. Could still happen. I would need a future 3rd to move him in SF.

I may just be extremely pessimistic on his outlook, but I don't think an early 5th would be that insulting. The guy has done nothing to date and doesn't have any positive outlook. The roster spot is sufficient IMO.

Thanks, went ahead and offered him the 5.01 for Rosen. The team I did this for is a complete mess and I traded away most good players for picks and younger players so I thought Rosen fit this mold and wouldn't cost much.

3 staffs now have said no thanks, right?

This guy has the most insurmountable odds I've ever seen to becoming relevant.

I bought low on Rosen in multiple leagues.

I've dropped him for other QB sleepers where available at this point. 2 teams have said he's not the guy, and despite some under the radar performances he doesn't get it done. When old man Fitz is so much better than you the team will mutiny if you're still the starter it's time to move on to other dice rolls (PJ Walker, Taysom Hill)

I personally think getting him would be a very Belichik-ian move.

1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

I also bought low on him in a league that rosters about 1,000 players. I have hope that he gets another look, but is there a team that isn’t sold on their own starter?

He’s a bust and even if he manages to turn it around, it’ll take years, so no point holding on. Even if he stays in Miami, it’ll still be his third system in three years with the Dolphins moving on from O’Shea to Gailey at OC.

There’s too many good QBs in the league right now. How does he end up relevant? He gets cut, signs with New England, and wins the job from Stidham who’s had over an extra year to learn the playbook? Or he ends up in Pittsburgh or Indianapolis and wins the backup job from Rudolph/Brissett, and then Roethlisberger/Rivers retire, and THEN the team doesn’t draft a replacement?

If your league is crazy deep (like 16x30 with taxi squads) then maybe this is a decent time to but in SF. I think in most leagues he’s going to hit the waiver-wire before he gets another shot, so even if you believe in him, I’d just wait rather than trading for him.

Fun fact- I traded my lone share of him along with the 2.12 last year for Lamar Jackson and a 3rd right after the story came out that Lamar looked horrible in practice. Remains one of the most lopsided trades I’ve ever made.
