Would give everyone a chance to get their shiaaat together/healthy with what is essentially 2 week breaks a few times through the season. Those weeks could also be used for reschedules games if needed.

I love this idea. Call Goodell....... oh wait it makes too much sense so he wont do it.

For some reason when I read “Call Goodell,” all I could picture is that nerd down in his basement during the draft this year.

Also, if they took an approach like this and planned for a 12 game season only there would be even a couple more weeks of cushion built in to react to a disaster. The Superbowl would be safe from being pushed back as well. However, that would be a guarantee sacrifice of a butt load of dollars so understandable they are going to go for it all.

False positives are nothing new in the issues with covid testing. Glad they were able to rule them out fairly quickly, but hope they can eliminate errors by the time the season starts to avoid confusion.

This is the problem the NFL faces with these young guys. Evans has denied he was there as well.

Good news. If the season isn't boycotted, this is a good bit of news.

That will greatly enhance the NFLs ability to contain any outbreaks. Heard about this test months ago, hopefully it is more accurate now.

I also don't see the NFL boycotting. It's a much different league with much different dynamics. On a positive note, it seems like people may be bored of covid.

We'll see. Reports are the Lakers and Clippers and not going to play, but the rest of the league is. If certain NFL teams do the same, it will wreak Fantasy havoc. Crazy times.

Agreed, it could be a nightmare if they allow certain teams to forfeit while others continue playing.

Quit panicking about covid, boycotting, too many positive tests. It hasn't been as bad as anyone feared in any sport. What a joke if they boycott because of this, which they won't. Just like I said earlier in the off season, the NFL season will start. Take it to the bank. They will play most of the season at worst also.

Not panicking, just pointing out it helps. The boycotting comment was a bit tongue in cheek. The better they have things set up for COVID, the less it will affect the players, and our season.

Forgive me if this had been mentioned but I didn’t feel like reading back thru the thread again.

Any suggestions as what to do if the last game of the week is cancelled which would leave no way to replace guys in your lineup? My first thoughts are it’s either a tough break and you’re screwed or retroactively Insert the lowest scoring eligible guy from previously played game that week off of your bench to at least give you a chance.

My league has everything else COVID related in writing already but I’d like to get something presented to them to cover this scenario.

Just like a last minute inactive. It's one we have to plan for, and it's part of the game this year, just like a guy going in with a (Q) tag. Sucks, but it's the best and easiest way to handle it, IMO.

Agreed. Unfortunately this is the reality, otherwise people will want to retroactively sub last minute, injury-related scratches too. Creates a slippery slope.

Thought I would bump this quickly. Have to admit I'm surprised with how well the NFL has done so far. I know that the regular season will have new challenges but so far so good. Maybe we can actually have a real fantasy football season
