Re: Courtland Sutton?
Denver was near the bottom of the league in offensive plays run and in passing plays. They couldn’t sustain drives with the offense they were putting on the field. There’s plenty of room to see a significant uptick in both plays run and passing plays now that they’ve retooled the offense. Jeudy can get his, Hamler can stretch the field some, and Sutton will still be fed. But now Ds can’t roll as much to Sutton, which figures to benefit him greatly.
I’m wondering if DEN doesn’t see what NO did with Thomas and maybe start working Sutton in the slot a bit too. That’s a nightmare for opposing Ds. I don’t see a downside for Sutton in this draft, only an improvement on his opportunities.

This is good for Sutton, not bad. Now he has teammates the defense has to worry about.

Re: Courtland Sutton?
X2. Look at his numbers with Flacco vs Locke as well. I sold Sutton about a month ago feeling like his value was as high as it was going to get with all the alpha talk. Sutton was turning 10 targets into 4 rec 50 yards down the stretch and now they spend more draft capital than they did on Sutton and it’s supposed to be a good thing? I don’t get this being good at all, I see an uptick in efficiency being offset by less target share. I see the WR picks as great for real football but not so great for fantasy, especially on what is a run first ball club.Kmani6 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:15 pm From an NFL standpoint the Broncos are doing everything right to set up Lock well. But to think that we love this for Sutton just doesn't make sense. Jeudy is the best WR on that field, and them bringing him in, Hamler, and MG3 who scores a lot of TDs isn't one of those opens the field moments. His ceiling is definitely capped, and I don't see him as making the jump to WR 1 anymore.

Re: Courtland Sutton?
He had a ton of RZ targets but was woefully inefficient in turning those targets into TDs. Maybe some positive regression but most of his tds last year were long ones not in the RZ.Hottoddies wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:20 pm Sutton is still the alpha dog and red zone hog. He may lose a bit of volume but he won't see as much double coverage. As a Sutton owner, I'm not worried at all. He'll be a big part of a potent aerial attack.

I think Jeudy and Sutton compliment each other well. They'll create opportunities for each other if Lock has the capacity to dole it out. They won't be infringing on the same types of looks.

Re: Courtland Sutton?
I will say I constantly tend to panic too much about WRs joining a team with an established WR1. For example I panic sold Keenan Allen after the Chargers took Mike Williams in the top 10 and Keenan went on to have his 3 best seasons in a row.

Disagree! If Sutton were in this weekend's draft, he is probably the top WR teams would take. I don't think this affects Sutton positively or negatively to be honest. He should see. Ore favorable coverage and we know he is a beast.Kmani6 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 10:15 pm From an NFL standpoint the Broncos are doing everything right to set up Lock well. Re: Courtland Sutton?
Sutton is a good WR but he does have suspect speed and doesn't separate easily from better defenders. I like him as a WR2/3 for Fantasy. Don't see him ever getting to the upper echelon but a consistent 13-14 point player isn't all that bad.
Jeudy is a far more talented player than Sutton in pretty much every aspect of the game. Jeudy is easily the best long play between the 2.

Yeah, that's a bad approach. The goal shouldn't be to find a great WR who never has competition for targets (even though that would be amazing), but it's just rare these days. Teams know they need 2-3 good WRs and there's an increasing use of 3WR sets.
I don't think Sutton's value has tanked or anything. If people are overreacting to it, buy low.

Is it too lazy to comp Sutton/Jeudy to DT/ Sanders? Both thrived in Denver together because they complimented eachother.

Not at all. Early in Suttons career he did better with Sanders. Jeudy will help Sutton out a lot and I expect both to thrive. It's not unheard of to have 2 top 12 fantasy wrs on the same team. Jeudy is kind of that Ridley type wr to me, so I expect perennial 13-24 finishes from him and Sutton to eatOrenthal Shames wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 7:21 am Is it too lazy to comp Sutton/Jeudy to DT/ Sanders? Re: Courtland Sutton?
I could seriously see this being a Godwin/Evans situation. Doubtful that they get the volume that the Bucs did but I think Jeudy, Hamler, and Sutton are beautifully complimentary on paper.
I don’t see Hamler being a weekly startable guy in FF but he’s going to command attention for the risk of chunk plays to buy some breathing room for Jeudy and Sutton. I think as early as this year we’ll see Jeudy and Sutton have comparable fantasy outputs with Jeudy having the higher floor and Sutton with a few massive weeks.

It really is all on Lock now. They have a wealth of offensive upside on that team.

Re: Courtland Sutton?
My main worry is the volume. At least in Dallas with Lamb, you are looking at a 5000 yard passing offense. There is plenty to spread around. In Denver, you're likely looking at <4000.JoshGordonsDealer wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 8:03 am I could seriously see this being a Godwin/Evans situation.
