Draft comp is DJ Chark, who apparently some people are considering trading OBJ for. So Slayton is probably going to be worth more than OBJ by this time next year.

So he is still available in my league. Is he someone worth putting a claim in for?

Not sure if he’s the real deal or not.

Yes.

That's why he's a free agent, if people knew if he was the real deal or not he wouldn't be available. If you wait until waiver guys completely prove themselves before you are willing to acquire them then you'll never get them, because someone else will grab them.

So is he startable this week? If Engram is out I’m considering going with him - the Pats always take away option #1, which has to be Tate, meaning he’d be the second in line for targets. I suspect they are going to get trounced, so should be some garbage time passing volume to be had.

I think so. The Pats are playing some great defense, but Slayton is likely to get a good amount of targets. Let's hope for some garbage time points too!
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I would for sure pick him up. He looked great in the off season and has shown well with his opportunities. The Giants will get crushed this week (and probably most) and they have almost no other options for targets due Barkley, Shepard, and engram all being ruled out. There are worse fliers.

I stashed him to see if he can get himself a starting spot going forward. Doubt he puts up too much tonight to wow us against the Pats D but enough to say going forward Shepard and Slayton on the outside and Tate in the slot etc

I do see a high floor tonight barring injury. 10-12 with room to go up.

Maybe he turns into Kenny Golladay? Not in terms of skillset, but as a guy we didn't really covet in rookie drafts except as a stash, who turns into a star.

Or, as a floor, I think he is at least a Tyrell Williams type of dynasty asset.

His film hasn't been TERRIBLY impressive, not to the level his stats would imply any least, but Jones looks to him early & often in very crucial spots. I haven't yet seen the 4.37 wheels (I think that's what he ran), but he looks a bit like a poor man's Allen Robinson out there - which is a compliment.

He’s talented enough. Combine that with speed and ball-tracking skills and that can usually lead to success. We need to see some consistency and then I will really be sold. Right now what interests me the most is his excellent chemistry with Daniel Jones. This could be a dynamic duo beginning very soon and for the foreseeable future.

He's for sure a big strong athlete with good speed. Can he do this consistently and run precision routes week in week out? We'll see, but he's certainly jumping in value.

2020 Round 2 as of now but we have a long way to go. Robert Foster looked like a starter in the final half of Buffalo's 2018 season.

Yeah that's for real. Daniel Jones and Slayton will be (/already are) reliable fantasy contributors before the Giants turn things around.
