I agree with this. I will also add that there is the ego factor that people that took him 1.01 don't want to admit it may have been the wrong decision, so will trade in that mindset.
No doubt but the reality is it's a bit early to even claim it is a wrong decision given the only rookie RB to be in the top 5 in fantasy was a FA pick up.

Through week 11, prior to his injury, CEH was a top 10 fantasy RB in points. There was some good and some not so good with every rookie RB outside of Robinson who was the beast rookie in 2020.
I assume you are referring to average points per game? Otherwise, Taylor finished higher than JR in total points at #6 overall in PPR and #4 in standard. Semantics, as I agree Robinson had the best start to finish year.

CEH has been a strong buy since the Bell signing. He's moved several times in my leagues already, including once by myself (CEH+Diontae for Watson). It's likely his original owners aren't discounting, but I'd absolutely be asking.
Yes Semantics I guess. 8-)

I always look at Season Total Points Discussions based on a 16 Week Fantasy season given that is how long the season runs in most experienced leagues. In all my PPr leagues Robinson was 4th and Taylor 7th.

Now that the NFL is going to 17 games it will be interesting to see how fantasy leagues adapt.

5 new starters and 2 new subs vs the 2020 season? I expect a step up in production.
Got him at 4.02 and 5.03 in my 2 sf startups this year and am very happy with how the offseason has played out.

That makes eight new offensive linemen vs 2020 for the Chiefs.

I like CEH a ton at this moment, and I think Mahomes will be able to regain his MVP self next year as well.

Ill be buying CEH low if possible. Meanwhile, I'll appreciate that KC is loading up on OL for Mahomes. They are definitely filling that hole

CEH is very, very attainable at the moment. I was all out on him when he carried a T4 RB price, but I’m all in on him at RB14-18 prices.

Just gave Goff + M. Davis + M. Sanders + 2.11 for CEH + Stafford. FWIW I like Sanders value right now too, but rank CEH slightly ahead of him due to age and situation.

No one has even offered on CEH. I tried to ask for something on top of ETN and was soundly rejected with a polite reply that CEH wasn't close to ETN. If I didn't have him I'd aggressively be trying to acquire him.

I mean CEH has actual RB skills like vision and wiggle--instead of just running fast in a straight line--so I'd take CEH fairly easily

But if someone drafted Etienne it isn't unreasonable for them to prefer him--it'll just look funny in a year

I think this is why so many people whiffed so badly on this. People seem to value being perceived as somebody who “Understands Real Football” and end up putting emphasis on impossible to quantify things like “wiggle.” Meanwhile, there’s actually some quantifiable value associated with “running fast in a straight line.”

In a home league I got him for James Robinson and Logan Thomas, just before the value fell out on Robinson- a guy I couldn’t flip for Akers/Dobbins/Swift. This is absolutely a time to buy- he’s much, much cheaper than last off-season. He has arguably the least competition for touches of any back in the league and plays in one of the league’s best offenses. I suspect they’ll add one of the washed vets like Bell or Gurley, but still, we’re looking at a 70ish percent snap share in the league’s best offense. I’ve maintained throughout his career that Edwards-Helaire has some Devonta Freeman-esque upside, and I suspect we’re about to see that this year.

I hope you are right. We know he isnt Zeke, and he seemed to personify the ghost of Matt Forte at the goal line, but the chiefs haven't added anyone so i assume they are happy to give him the ball. Hopefully a full off season gets him up to speed in the passing game. At his price pount Id be much happier to gamble on him than Swift, Dobbins or Akers

Big fan of ETN and CEH.

ETN has way more skills than just running fast. Ridiculous to think otherwise IMO.

When combined with other factors sure? On its own?

I moved CEH up to 3 post draft--not higher. Dobbins and JT were clearly better prospects and their speed scores (yes I know they have predictive value) highlighted that.

People whiffed on CEH at 1 because of landing spot and visions of Kareem Hunt--full stop

Dobbins and JT also had vision better than Trent Richardson some degree of lateral agility while being early declares--if I could say the same for Etienne I might take him over CEH before ever playing a snap

I'm not a tape guy at all but his situational awareness (not just vision but following blocks, pass blocking assignments, making the right cut, etc was awful enough for someone who has little attention to film analysis to notice)

I know his ceiling is absurdly high but beyond just not betting on it I would be surprised if CEH isn't substantially more valuable in a year barring injury

I was all in on CEH because EVERY rb that starts under Andy Reid thrives. And CEH was picked in the 1st when kc had other needs. It wasnt just Hunt, it was every Reid RB
