Gronk Thread: Gronkowski to Tampa Bay!
Re: Gronk retired
I needed a TE back when... and I drafted Gronk/Hernandez with 5.03/5.04. Completely altered my fantasy fortune$ for years. He was such a difference maker at the position. Just awesome to own. He'll be missed during the season.

Re: Gronk retired
I never got the chance to own him. Pretty disappointing because he was a beast.

Gronk's agent isn't ruling out Gronk returning at some point in 2019.

Drew Rosenhaus on @GetUpESPN on Rob Gronkowski’s future: “If the team was struggling or they needed him at some point next year, and let’s just say hypothetically Tom Brady gave him a call and said ‘Rob, I need you.’ I wouldn’t be shocked if he came back to play a few games.”

I remember hearing Calvin Johnson owners saying that too!Fantasyfanatic11 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 7:32 am Gronk's agent isn't ruling out Gronk returning at some point in 2019.

Re: Gronk retired
I think Rosenhaus may want to believe Gronk could come back because Gronk was one of his best clients, and I'm guessing Drew is annoyed he didn't get five more years of business from a superstar that isn't even 30 yet.
Considering Gronk's surgery history, his body probably hurts all the time. He's filthy rich, has multiple rings, and just doesn't need to keep piling more hurt on hurt. By retiring now, he can take what's remaining of his bruised and battered youth and actually focus on enjoying his fortune in his 30s, hopefully without waking up in pain every day a few years from now.

Re: Gronk retired
I am not saying Gronkowski will come out of retirement just that I do not know if he is more of a Calvin Johnson or a Marshawn Lynch type. If he retired because he no longer feels he can take the grind or his body will fall apart then thats Calvin Johnson. I do feel that there is at least a 1% chance he can do what Witten & Lynch did. So I have no problems if owners choose to hold onto him and wait & see. The odds that Gronk plays again seem equal to the odds that the guy you draft in a late 4th actually makes an NFL squad.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Hell , we are still holding onto Barry

Re: Gronk retired
Gronk made some comments during the season that made it seem like he was done. When he talked about people not understanding the toll that playing takes on your body, he seemed like a guy who was ready to walk away.
Much like Calvin Johnson.

Re: Gronk retired
If Tom called would he consider one more run? Hmmm?

Re: Gronk retired
Even if he did come back he has proven to no longer be a reliable fantasy option, maybe bestball leagues he would be worth holding otherwise I'm just cutting him. Was a great run and great player, longevity may hurt his case for the title of "Best TE Ever" in the eyes of many, but I don't think it can be argued that his best was better than any other TE's best in league history.
Re: Gronk retired
He was just cut in my 10 team league. Kind of surprised actually.
