It's definitely OBJ. Another one that people get wrong is Adrian Peterson. Some call him AP but his nickname is AD(all day).

ccj wrote: Now this is hardly scientific, but 1.92/2.26 would be a 15% regression ASSUMING OBJ is equal to the best players. I'd say it's more likely he'll see a larger regression into the 1.80 range and see a dip in his targets from 10.8 to ~8.5. So, my fantasy point total for him (assuming health) next season should be 244.8 which should make him an upper 3rd WR2.

...

Maybe, just maybe, in Ben McAdoo's offense this efficiency is possibly sustainable. I still doubt it. However, to those who have been calling Cobb's TD output unlikely to continue... his career efficiency isn't too far off this year's spike. Health has been a concern for getting the targets, but performance has always been there.
Well, this is as much for me as it is for any of you, but let's take a look at how OBJ actually measured up in his second season. So on a point per target and target per game basis we have the following:

Year---PPT----TPG
2014---2.26---10.8
2015---2.02---10.5
Prediction-1.80-1.92---8.5

So, I'd have to say the OBJ truthers were right (though I maintained Julio as my #1 asset, not so bad). He did decline in PPT, but his targets stayed up in the stratosphere (although there's a new stratosphere set by the likes of Julio, Brown and Hopkins).

I'll go on record saying I expect an across the board decline on OBJ's PPT and TPG this year, but not by that much. Let's say 1.95 and 9 which will give him a PPR point total of 280.5 if he manages 16 games, if I were a betting man... and I am, I'd take the under on 16 games.

If McAdoo can get Perkins into the Cobb role and Beckham in a Jordy'esque role... maybe I should be buying more Perkins. Of course, Eli is not ARod.

Edit: Fixing my years in case you thought I was posting from the future.

He played twelve games and had the second most fantasy points by a rookie since the merger (PPR or standard).

There's a reasonable debate to be had about Beckham going forward. But if you're minimizing what he did in 2014, I can't imagine anyone who doesn't already agree with you would care about what you have to say about Beckham going forward.
Mmmmmmkay...re-read, I didn't minimize anything...I just stated facts, nothing fictitious or opinion based. Cruz was on IR, he only had a legit second half of the season, Manning is still his QB, running game will be used more this year, Donnell getting touches, Randle getting touches...Cruz coming back and touches...all facts man...never said I hated the guy, just think he's over hyped this off-season...so...go troll elsewhere.
To be fair, I guess we still haven't seen how a healthy Cruz will cut into Beckham's numbers.

We may get some idea with Shephard though - I guess?

I imagine he will be playing the Cruz type role.

I wonder if OBJ & Shephard can put up Nicks & Cruz numbers (when they were big).

I'm sorry, but why does this thread exist? OBJ is a freakish athletic talent, a polished WR in a high-tempo offense with a good QB, and he has been one of the most consistent fantasy players despite only being in his third season in the NFL at 23 years old. The end.

Nah that would've required far too much reading at work on a Friday before a long weekend.

Yeah I made this a long time ago when Odell's value went sky high. I guess my worries were unwarranted.

To his credit, ccj bumped the thread to acknowledge that he was wrong about Beckham in 2015. I then re-read the thread because it was interesting, and I couldn't help but quote the guy who called me a troll.

Funny that the guy calling you a troll gives a "fact" list of several speculations and reiterated that they are facts. Then calls you a troll

I envisioned it something like Owen Wilson calling Vince Vaughn a hillbilly and white trash in Wedding Crashers.

Full disclosure, I searched for the thread because I thought I was right (well closer to being right). Still was interesting (to me) to revisit.

I just don't think this Odell kid is going to make something of himself...

People go bonkers about OBJs hands, which are in fact incredible. My favorite thing is his route running, its almost flawless. Which means he is a student of the game and doesn't take for granted his catch ability or his athleticism.
