This post here about the out after this year is interesting. It'd be fun if he returned to NO, ignoring their cap issues for the moment.
That would be fun if he went back to NO! It would further muddy up that QB situation, and I don’t dislike them or anything, I just think it would be interesting to see how it would play out between he, Winston, and Hill.

There is a connection in Denver, as the GM there was the asst GM when Bridgewater was drafted. Whether or not that means anything we'll see. It would make sense (to me at least) for Carolina to hold onto Teddy until Darnold has shown the job is his for the longer term (and rather than just the immediate starter). It has been shown in recent history how valuable a proven starting QB in your backup role can be, and right now Carolina is in that enviable position while some teams are having to try to patch things together.

Besides Denver teams I think could be potential fits for a longer term role in the future (assuming they choose not to draft a QB to develop).

The Bears could use a QB with starter upside. Bridgewater looks like the type that will be in the league for a long long time as a higher end backup.

He is about as exciting as Dalton.

Good points. I'll throw out Seattle, if Wilson isn't with the team. Bridgewater seems the type who'd kowtow to Carroll's run first offense.

Why pay another QB good money to be in a meh trio though? Dalton and Foles both have a 10M dead cap hit so I doubt they'd move either. Doesn't seem like a smart move for Chicago but they haven't been full of those so maybe you're on to something.

I do think he's probably a quality backup for a while

Nice connection on Denver, I didn't realize that. I could see him being a guy that Belichick would like as insurance or to push Cam a bit.

Why did the Eagles eat 30 plus million on Wentz? Obviously, I doubt they go after him but they could if they actually think he is better than what they actually have today.

I mean the draft picks helped. The Eagles like Hurts as well. I think he has more upside than the 3 in conversation (Teddy, Dalton, Foles), but id also say that about Wentz.

I also agree if they think Teddy is an upgrade, then go get him if he's cheap enough. I'm just not of the opinion that Teddy is a clear upgrade

He actually seems like a guy who would be better suited to running a Patriots style offense than Cam. And if Bargain Hunter Belichick can get him on the cheap, even better.

They're probably really disappointed that this means the broncos will likely not try to trade up for a rookie QB.

Bridgewater was also bad last year, but he's a little better than Lock

That’s just stupid IMO. DEN has all sorts of artillery so they add a guy who is marginally (and a thin margin at that) better than the crappy QB they already have? How does that improve the team in any meaningful way?

If you take one truckload of sh!t and dump it on top of another truckload of sh!t it doesn’t suddenly turn into gold. It’s just twice as much sh!t.

They've said all off-season that they're high on Lock's potential and they wanted to bring in competition.

This is "competition". It cost them a 6th round pick + 3 mill in cap space for a high end backup, potential bridge QB.

This is a great move by the Broncos.

I don't think this means the Broncos won't still draft a QB in the first round.

That is a low price to pay in draft picks, and the Panthers restructured Teddy's contract to pay more of his salary. The Broncos are giving a 6th and very little in salary cap space.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
