Christian McCaffrey Thread: CMC Extension

Postby dipANDglide » Sat Dec 12, 2015 3:48 pm

Does this kid have a chance to be special in the NFL and as a fantasy asset? He's obv looked really dynamic.

I don't think so. I think he can be a COP back

Absolutely. NFL family pedigree, extremely productive in the PAC 12 as a sophomore. Hell, productive enough to break Barry Sanders record. I do agree he will most likely be a COP back there are plenty of those that are solid dynasty assets.

Don't you wish that on that nice young man! Lol
Hopefully he goes to a team that will give him a chance at a consistent role, not one of their 6 RBs that they under-utilize

Any chance he converts to WR for the NFL? I mean he has the right size to be a slot guy. Has speed and quickness. And was a very productive pass catcher in college.

The talent levels obviously aren't close but DJ foster's switch to WR killed his stock this year. Not sure how'd McCaffrey would do getting off the line and on more nuanced routes than those out of the backfield. I think I'd rather him stay at RB.

Perhaps a Woodhead/Vereen/Sproles type back?

Honestly, if McCaffrey were black then no one would be having this discussion. Not trying to be that guy but it has to be said.

Dude is special, and he'll be special in the NFL as a runningback, no he won't have to change positions or be a COP guy.

He is every bit as quick, elusive, and a playmaker as many RB's that we call studs. I'm buying him in a DEVY league late because this is the lowest his value will be. Also, since he won't be the best RB in his class (Fournette, Cook, Samaje, maybe Chubb), He's got a great chance to land in a great spot.

I'd be on board with this argument but I got burned by planting a flag in another talented college RB who happened to be white and from Stanford.

Will he be the 2nd white RB since 1985 to rush for 1000 yards? Those are long odds.

If he becomes a lead back in the NFL I like his chances. Last I checked, I haven't seen too many white dudes getting 15+ carries a game.

Stanford had 4 seniors starting on their offensive line who have been playing together since they were freshman. I will be watching mcCaffrey closely next year to see if he can keep up his 2015 production.

I'm guessing this guy wasn't 201 lbs. either. I will hope for Woodhead type production and be happy with that.
