I think so, but he was and still is the target hog of that offense. Maybe an extra 1-2 targets/game.

Yeah, gotta be. He's going to be a WR1 again this year I bet but I'm not sure the change is anything dramatic.

He’s a slot guy, and the deep threat just got axed... and the starting RB. Not sure I’d be counting on Kupp to improve over last year’s numbers.

I don't think it matters that much. Cooks wasn't doing much last year, and he wasn't the reason Kupp was successful. Gurley wasn't scaring anyone last year, either. I think Kupp is going to be heavily targeted regardless. The Rams may add another WR in the draft, or go with Reynolds.

I dont think the rams spend an early pick at WR or RB, they have so many issues everywhere else and the dead cap hits they have taken are huge.

I think Reynolds steps up and it might mean more targets for their TE's.

Cooks was on pace for just under 1,000 yards prior to the concussion issues. Kupp was on pace for 1,300 yards over that same period and 1,500 yards if you include the game when they lost Cooks, which is reasonable as it’s difficult for a defense to adapt to a completely different attack mid-game. He was on pace for 738 yards after that point.

They’re already talking about a need to get Everett more involved so this makes some sense. I think they still need a deep threat if only to keep defenses honest. I don’t think Reynolds is that guy, but maybe he’ll surprise me.

Very reasonable deal imo for a guy who's a great receiver but I don't think can be an alpha number 1

GREAT fantasy player. This is a really nice deal for both sides. LA doesn't lock in too many years and gets Kupp at a reasonable price. Kupp will continue to thrive in the McVay offense and probably gets another payday down the road.

Kupp locked into the Mcvay offense for 3 more years with Goff running the show. I’m buying in.

I think this was kind of a discount. While I tend to agree with the notion that Keenan Allen and Cooper Kupp are not your stereotype WR1s, you'll be hard pressed to find guys who show up more consistently when at full health.

Four more years of running freely against zone coverage and rarely seeing press.

Cooper Kupp gets a 16 million a year extension, and now they make him the full time Punt Returner. Ugh. Maybe somebody should tell McVay about Preston Williams.

It's odd timing, for sure. Is Kupp a very good punt returner? If they're far better than average, I would be ok with my WR returning punts. The Vikings did that with Percy Harvin and he excelled.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
