As of now his value is definitely not much and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Even after the draft it will all determine where he signs and there are few teams that he can go to and show some relevance. I do think Tampa would be a good fit now with Peyton Barber gone. In my salary cap league I will probably take a look at him as a depth guy but that is about it.

I sure hope the bills don't add Freeman. He and singletary aren't good compliments to each other's strenths.

To me Tampa Bay would be a fit. I think Brady will campaign for a veteran pass pro specialist. If they draft a rookie RB, I don't think he would last long after Brady starts getting hit but I still think Hunt should be the #1 RB target for TB.

Arians was apparently quoted as saying he’s looking for a passing down specialist, so this could be a solid fit.

Damn I'd love for Tampa to trade for Hunt, for both my Hunt and Chubb shares.

How is Freeman a passing down specialist? He's more of a 1st/2nd down back.

Even in a down year last season, he caught 59 passes. Eighth among running backs.

He’s solid in pass protection and, as mentioned, he catches a lot of balls every year. His early down success has been almost exclusively in outside zone systems and I don’t see any teams running that system really looking for a RB.

Doubt they pay a 2nd for Hunt to then have to pay him more money, especially with him off field issues. I think Hunt is basically locked into Cleveland with that 2nd round tender. Arians has said he wants a guy at RB that doesn't come off the field. I think Swift would be a great fit. He's very solid in pass pro, and seems to fit what Arians is looking for in a RB.

I know it's accurate to say that Freeman is good in pass protection, but all I can think of is that whiffed block that lost Atlanta the Super Bowl...

I was quite certain that it was Atlanta's asinine coaching staff and play calling that lost that super bowl.

Let's agree and say that quite a few things had to take place for them to blow that lead... but this is always going to be the first play that comes to mind when I think "terrible pass protection rep."

Will anyone sign Devonta Freeman?

Postby hockeyBjj » Sun Apr 26, 2020 6:31 pm

This is getting sad. I thought even after nothing in free agency opening, a team would be quick to sign him after not getting an rb target they had in the draft.

Will he land somewhere? Or is it gonna be like Ajayi where it just really doesn’t happen? Teams gonna wait until a training camp injury to even give him a ring?
