Holy crap, what a stunner. Bill always manages to surprise me, even after all these years as a long-time Pats fan, he's impossible to predict.

It's the right move imo, just didn't expect all this to play out this soon.

I am not sure the starting job, he hasn't been playing well, but it certainly cost him his roster spot

Maybe bring unvaxxed cost him, maybe not. Maybe he was told Jones was going to be the starter and he asked for his release. Additionally I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of NFL contracts but I think they actually may free up a lot of pats want to add another player or two. Could be completely wrong about the contract though.


A better question is: Jones is now the starter and lance and fields, while we believe they will be starting this year are not yet. Should SF have taken Jones at 3 like the rumors were staying?

It was such an easy bet too. For some reason they all thought he still had it... I thought I was in the majority in thinking he was toast after last year, just wasn't in this particular group

His salary was a lot higher this year than last. Again not sure how it works out. But I suspect pats save a decent amount here.

Possible but it feels like Houston can already lose a ton of games without bringing in Cam to do it for them.
You have to think they play for a rookie QB all year.

Why would the jets want Cam behind Wilson? The worst thing you can do for a rookie is bring in a big personality QB that thinks they are still capable behind them.
