Re: Anyone buying Stefon Diggs stock?
I remember he was a very hyped high school player and went real high in devy drafts once upon a time. Doesn't look like there's much of a path in Minnesota though, but he was pretty good as a freshman. Not much of a stock to buy since he's probably going real late in drafts.

I'e always been a fan, and yes I am buying cheap stock (mid 30's or waivers).
I think he's a definite hold and long-term play, and even then I think his maximum ceiling is a low WR2.

Not interested unless he's free. Feels like a league average player at best.

Re: Anyone buying Stefon Diggs stock?
Like others I picked him off off waivers for free in hopes of trading him at the first sign of positive press or preseason performance. I feel the Vikes offense will revolve around AP this year leaving few touches for receivers not named Wallace, Johnson, or possibly Rudolph.

The more I read about MyCole Pruitt the more I think he makes an impact out of the gate. Especially if Kyle "Mr. Glass" Rudolph goes down.

Clearly he is a long-term investment. Wallace and Johnson are the guys now, but it's not like they are amazing or anything. They'll be gone eventually. I think Diggs could take that 3rd WR role though as the team doesn't seem to be on board with Jarius Wright, and Patterson is a gadget player.

Re: Anyone buying Stefon Diggs stock?
This may not mean anything, but in OTA videos that the Vikings official site puts out every day, the dude is in there making a long play. These are short, like 2.5 minute videos and I swear he's in 80% of them. Again, this ultimately may mean nothing, but just thought I'd share what I noticed.
Also, Jarius Wright is a FA after this season FWIW.
I like MyCole Pruitt (mentioned by someone else earlier) more.

Re: Anyone buying Stefon Diggs stock?
pros
- great hand-size; he wins contested throws because of them
- good play-speed on tape
- already a good route-runner and I'm confident he'll improve further as a pro
- good hips, seemingly good agility on tape
- 1.54 10-yard split (important for him that this was at worst lower 1.50s)
cons
- significant injury history, and I see him visibly afraid of big hits
- I expected better agility scores in his workouts
- 11 bench-press reps reinforces what's seen on tape; i.e. he will likely struggle with NFL corners that can physically bully him
Of the cons, that first item is the one that worries me most. And it's big. When an athlete is consciously worrying about being injured, it's a recipe for disaster; not only will it diminish their performance, ironically it usually makes them more likely to get injured. I played two sports pretty seriously in my youth, and I learned that being instinctive in your movements and reactions is key to avoiding many injuries. A guy with injury fear in his head stops being instinctive. He tenses when he should be loose, reacts too consciously when he's falling, etc, and all that just causes more injuries.
I like Diggs, but he'll need to make a lot of his bread in the NFL from the slot, and the slot in the NFL requires some fearlessness. Does Diggs have that?

Re: Anyone buying Stefon Diggs stock?
Excellent review above. I am buying him fairly cheap in 16/32 formats as a depth player that could emerge. I bought John Brown last year late in rookie drafts and hope to reap a similar stat line from Diggs.
Just a guy who loves fantasy football - specifically defense.
Diggs
I tried to make sure I grabbed this guy in the later rounds of rookie drafts this year as an end of the bench boom/bust stash. Really haven't heard a peep of his name in these forums since shortly after the NFL draft. Was wondering what people's thoughts are on him, especially after a solid stat line in his NFL debut.
Re: Diggs
He was the vikings top camp guy, made all kinds of wow plays.
Got deactivated first 3 games(didn't understand it myself. He is way better than patterson)
Showed his stuff yesterday. Looks really quick out of breaks. Is really good in space.
I think he is a stud in the making.
He made more great wr plays yesterday than patterson has his entire career.

Re: Diggs
I watched the game. Diggs looked really good. Teddy looked his way often.
Diggs made a couple mistakes (fumbled, recovered his own fumble after a catch), but also flashed when he destroyed Aquib Talib on one third down catch. He's got great burst and acceleration. He also catches with his hands, aggressively attacking the ball. I just hate when players let the ball hit their body to trap it rather than attack.
I don't have him in any leagues. Only a couple would have deep enough benches for a stash like him, but as a Vikings fan, I love his game. Teddy won't throw with the volume he did yesterday (41 attempts) often, so Diggs will have to be promoted to the top two WRs on the team to be startable.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Diggs
I don't own him anywhere but I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over Charles Johnson's role at some point this season.

Re: Diggs
I guess the main question is how has Diggs been inactive the first 3 games? Johnson, Patterson and Wright are over him on the depth chart?
