My plan is to do 2,000 startups. All auction drafts.

IMO there will be a season, we can still watch on TV and there is too much money involved there to not produce that. What I fear is a lot of soft muscle injuries because nobody will be in top shape

It's not even been 2 full days without sports, and I'm already going through major withdrawal ... I don't think I'll make it to football season at this rate.

How are your leagues proceeding? Mine is at a standstill at the moment given all the uncertainty.
16 team league
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex (RB/WR/TE)
26 upman rosters - full point ppr
2015, 17, 18, 19, 20 Champs

QB: Watson, Flacco Stidham
RB: Bijan, Gibbs, McLaughlin
WR: Olave, Addison, Flowers, Rice, Sutton, Downs, Mims, Tillman
TE: Kittle, Goedert, Chig, Woods
24 Picks: 1.06

As normal, but we've discussed contingencies.

Some things to discuss:

1. What do you do about fees/payouts?
- I think your options are to either refund everybody for the season/roll the fees to 2021, play 2021 for double the buy-in, or spread 2020's buy in over the next few seasons. All of these seem fine to me. I'd lean toward rolling everything to 2021 and refunding anybody who had to pay in advance.

2. How do you set your 2021 Draft order?
- This is way harder. Keeping it the same as 2021 gives the teams that tanked for the 2020 draft a double bonus. Imagine tanking for one season to get Burrow and Lawrence in superflex.
- One solution was to completely randomize it, which is "fair" but has obvious downsides; while it has the upside of not messing with already traded picks.
- Another solution is to do an one time auction for 2021, but it gets complicated if you've already traded 2021 picks. We've been discussing a proposed plan where each 2021 pick is converted to an auction dollar value, and then holding a 2021 rookie auction.

As of now we are continuing as normal. Will discuss at that time, if it's still a problem in the fall.

I'd think rolling any prepaid fees to 2021 makes sense, as well as a randomized rookie draft or auction.

If the NFL is cancelled the NCAA most definitely will be...so drafting in 2021 would be a big challenge at that point. Most analysis of players would be from the 2019 season, which is often very unreliable so far out.

If there was no 2020 season, then for the 2021 rookie draft:

I would look to do a snake draft for sure.

We would randomize the order in which teams get to pick their snake draft slot.

Maybe somehow give the weaker teams a higher shot of getting earlier dibs on picking their draft slot.

Right now though, it might be a good idea to freeze the trading of 2021 draft picks until further notice

I think random order and snake would be best. I don't think trading the picks needs to be frozen of everyone knows the order could be random, but I guess it couldn't hurt

We have discussed the idea of a weighted lottery, which would give an advantage to the weaker teams.

Does the NFL have a bylaw for how 2021 draft would go if 2020 wasn't played?

It's still a gamble for people to buy or to sell 2021 picks, I don't see any advantage to suspend it now. If everything goes as planned, no changes necessary. If not, there will still be an NFL draft which means there will still be a rookie draft for us in fantasy.

Speaking of, if there is no 2020 season how does the NFL go about choosing 2021 draft order?

Someone beat me to it^

Since this thread got bumped, I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts on the following

I think it might be prudent to build teams for depth this year. As I said earlier in the thread, I think games will be played. I could see practices/OTA,etc all getting crunched though. Far as I know, this could lead to more injuries? On top of that, if/when players get covid? I feel like net result is more downtime for more players, and a successful team is gonna be the one that dodges the bullets (even more than usual)
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

1.03, 1.11, 2.02, 2.09

Very good points and I agree on all counts.
