Year long Buy/Sell thread

Postby spa12397 » Sat Feb 15, 2020 11:58 am

It’s never too early or late to discuss buy or sells, or right?

Buys

QB

J Winston— Eye surgery done, 30/30 vision fixed, he is a passing machine

Baker Mayfield — I think he bounces back this year

Sneaky buy lows for short term production, Ben and Cam, both healthy and looking for redemption

RB

Darrel Henderson— I think Gurley leads, and Darrel lives up to hype last year

Kareem Hunt— I think he goes somewhere and becomes a 3 down back

i also like Sony Michel, I think Burkhead and white leave, healthy center and FB, monster year for him

WR

Another bounce back candidate Juju, Ben back, Connor Healthy, probably an added WR or TE weapon

Hunter Renfrow— he will emerge as a poor mans Kupp

short term quality production AJ Green a whole year to get healthy, think he could be had pretty cheap

TE

Engram- should be healthy and D Jones loves him

also buying second year guys TJ Hochenson and Fant

sneaky TE Dawson Knox

sells will come later, just wanted to drum up some chat, so post your buy and sell guys

I find it hard to believe the vision was Winston's problem. I'm sure he wore contacts. I mean, if the organization and Winston suddenly realized his vision was off, that would be an error of catastrophic proportions organizationally. I'm sure players visit eye doctors at least yearly, so I don't see this eye surgery thing as a reason to buy Winston. The Bucs don't seem to committed to bringing him back, either, from everything I am reading and hearing.

I think Juju is a good buy. He should bounce back with Ben if he's healthy, in a contract year.

Winston's problem lies about 2 - 6" behind his eyes.

I recall reading/hearing somewhere that Winston had very poor eyesight. Something about him having to squint to see and not being about to read the score, tossing the ball to the streaking color blob down field cause he couldn't discern an actual person.

If it's been that bad of a problem that needed corrective surgery for him to do his job then it's gross negligence on him & the team that it took 5 years to correct.

This article references his struggles reading the scoreboard and mentions something about vision problems since he was at FSU.

Edit-

In the course of dismissing Winston's vision concerns, his then-HC Jimbo Fisher says " It is just at night he has a hard time with the lights sometimes."

Daniel McCullers (NT drafted by Pitt a few seasons ago) went thru the combine and when he got to the medical stuff and eye sight, they found out he was almost legally blind! Went through Juco and then the University of Tennessee without anybody realizing it.

So it can happen, but I'm shocked it took the Bucs this long with Jameis.

BUY
QB - Cam , Winston
RB - MG , Hunt , Rojo , Penny , Connor , Bell , Gurley , DJ
WR - OBJ , Juju , Diggs , Boyd , Crowder , Shepard , Ross , Preston , Fuller
TE - Ian , Jonnu , Higbee , Dissly , Cook

Now my reason for buying these guys isn't that I think they will all be great , I just think at the prices I seen most of them go they are worth a shot , They all had really down years for most of their proven production. Some will be on new teams , some will have new coaches or QBs that can help them out , some are moving up in the depth chart and some are coming off injuries.

Sternberger is a good/really cheap buy target at TE. Most of his season was wasted to injury this year, but he finished the season well with a TD in the playoffs.

The Packers could save somewhere around 8M if they part ways with Graham.

Of course I always assume every TE that ends up in Green Bay should be way more successful than any of them ever turn out...

I don’t see juju as a buy at all.

His owners are coming off valuing him super high this time last year and I don’t see many selling him too low just yet. Me included.

I guess I’ll inquire in leagues I don’t have him but I won’t be surprised if the asking price is something like a mid-late startup valuation.

This is funny because I've been guilty of that too.

I was big on Jermichael Finley back in the day. I never paid anything to get them but burned roster spaces hoping the next TE is the one that Rodgers will finally use.

Oof. X2 on Finley.

When I get time definitely gonna look at TE production with Rodgers at QB over his career, it can’t be that great.
