Brandon Aiyuk? You mean the guy that put up a whopping 33 474 3 line in his JR year across from NKeal Harry who most everyone has been poopooing for the last year? He's a one year wonder. Have fun with that. I hope a lot of people buy into the tweet that scouts have him rated higher than Harry who he couldn't even come close to beating out. That said I do agree with Edwards and I think he dropped on a lot of draft boards because he went back for his senior year. I'm hoping he'll drop to the second round in rookie drafts.

Go listen to move the sticks podcast with DJ and Bucky where they interview Aiyuk.

Aiyuk explained that the scheme was so that most targets were funneled to Harry to prop him up as a draft prospect . Now the same could be said for Aiyuk this year but he's very tslented.
What else would Aiyuk say in regards to his poor stats as a JR that wouldn't put him in a poor light? If I were him I'd say the same thing. "Yeah I didn't get targeted because the offense was focused on Harry to prop him up so that explains why I only had 33 catches as a JR".
Agreed.

This is such a weird excuse for his lack of production before this year.

Much more likely that Arizona St. ran a very run heavy offense and they only had enough volume for one receiver to shine. Harry was just better than Aiyuk throughout their ASU careers, so he saw the lion's share of the targets.

I doubt a guy getting paid a few million to field a competitive football team in a major conference is running his offense to maximize his players' draft hype.

Regardless of how people view Aiyuk's junior season, as it stands, Aiyuk's profile has a very low percentage to hit. Doesn't mean he won't, but you are betting against the odds if you think he will.

A WR I'll be watching and would take a late round flier on is Jauan Jennings from Tennessee. He reminds me a lot of Brandon Marshall. Dude is a legit alpha personality and is tough as nails. I could see him being a solid contributor at the next level.

Bryan Edwards. Breakout and Dominator Ratings through the roof. Breakout age in the 17s, which is unheard of and is 99th percentile. Dominator around 48.4%, which is 94 percentile. 6 ft 3.
Aiyuk has the feel of a poor mans DJ Moore - at least in terms of a player whose value was a 2nd round early on, but kept climbing during the off-season, and really exploded after his landing spot in the NFL Draft. Obviously a good draft spot will be key, but I would not be surprised if he starts appearing in the 1st round of rookie drafts come May/June and so forth.

When I watch Bryan Edwards on tape, to me he looks like the unrivaled best prospect. He’s very physical, has above average to good hands, good body control, not blazing speed, but good for his size, above average route runner. Of course he has the high Breakout age/DR as well. Most well rounded prospect in the draft
He also shared the field with Deebo, who looks like a hit (and to a lesser degree Hayden Hurst) and was the 1b in that offense despite being 2 years and some change younger than him.

Agreed on your assessment of him as well, but I'd add that he has a penchant for spectacular catches. While he has the occasional focus drops, he worked hard to fix that issue and dramatically reduced his drop rate his senior year (from 13% in his junior year to 6% his senior).

Clearly an underrated prospect right now, even with his 2nd round ADP

Interestingly enough, both of these prospects landed in pretty good landing spots with seemingly good opportunity.

I agree. I'd attribute it more to it being his first year on campus and the transition from JUCO being a tough one, but that also isn't a great look in a podcast interview. No real great way to answer a question like that. But if we honestly expected him in his first year to beat out the guy who had been there and producing for two years and had 1100 yards and 8 TDs the year prior, I think its kind of nit picky.

I like Bowden.. but he was drafted to be a RB on a team with a 22 year old franchise RB.

At minimum he's gonna take a few years to marinate. I'd have been a lot more excited for him in a different landing spot.

I'm of two minds about Edwards. On the positive side, he has the draft capital and the landing spot necessary to get really excited, on the negative side he jumped up a pretty good deal from where I expected he'd be available after all of his offseason issues w/injury and testing/pro day availability (or I thought he did, consulting the ranks, it looks like he's stayed more or less in the same general area) I expected him to follow a similar trend line with Kelvin Harmon, just not as severe. Thought he was gonna drop to the very end of round 3 or round 4, somewhere between about 85 and 150, and he basically went smack dab at the earliest of point I thought was possible (actually a touch earlier). W/3rd round draft capital, I definitely get the sense that he'll get every chance to show what he could do, something I was really worried about the previous two months or so. Interesting to see that he's still more or less where he was pre-draft, about 2.04 on DLF's rankings. In the Dynasty Blueprint Podcast he went at 2.09 in a super flex league with 3 or 4 QB's gone, so that seems like more or less his 1 QB league ranking, about the 16th-17th prospect. I'd snap that up every time.

I'm skeptical of Aiyuk, has the draft capital now, but after draft capital, breakout age is the most important thing to me, I'll give him a half mulligan on that because he was a JUCO transfer so it wasn't actually possible for him to break out until later than usual (and he had Harry in front of him last year getting all the attention in that offense). With all that being said, I get the sense he'll consistently be gone before I could pick him (in the ranks anyway he looks like a 1.12-2.02 guy, I'd probably have him around 2.04-2.05 so I suspect I won't land him anywhere).

What are the thoughts on Gabriel Davis? Nobody seems to be discussing him at all. Went middle of 4th round, has enough athleticism, but more importantly he's super young, just turned 21, broke out at 19, and had a career target share of 29%, which is very, very good. I hate the landing spot, as I don't really believe in Allen long-term plus they just got Diggs. Brown/Beasley probably won't be around much longer though.
