Does Anyone Still Believe: N'Keal Harry Edition
Re: N'Keal Harry will bust
My league is only 3 for a td and bonuses for long TDs.
I figure a guy like nkeal wont ger a ton of super long TDs but figure he'll get lots of redzone work. Plenty of 1 yard tds. Some leagues do 6 points for a td

Hate to say it that's not TD premium that's just non-ppr. Any premium designation imo means there's more pts for that type of scoring. For instance TE premium means TEs score more than RBs & WRs for receptions.Shoreline Steamers wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 4:01 pmLeagues kind of like mine in sig. TD's are the key to winning. But as for harry he is just too talented to not be useful and I think his situation is ideal. RBs in new england.. hard pass. Wide recievers? Yes please. Especially if you are in a TD premium league.
I honestly believe he can be a WR1 the ROS

Most* leagues do 6 points per rushing/receiving/return TD. Passing is usually 4, but a lot do a full 6.

If I understand his scoring system, it's 6 points for a TD and 1 point for 50 yards. So a TD would equal 300 yards as opposed to 60 yards in a standard system, thus putting a huge premium on scoring TDs.djeternal2 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 6:41 pmHate to say it that's not TD premium that's just non-ppr. Back in the 90s we called this a TD only league. Very old school. It harks back to the days when we scored games manually from the sports page. I didn't think people still used this system.

Re: N'Keal Harry will bust
That's correct. Of course the league has been around for 25 years, with only some minor tweaks to the rules over that time. TE's now get 1 point at 50 yards, and an additional point for each 25 yards after that. Certainly not TE premium, but we tried to at least give a little boost to the position a few years back.Hottoddies wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 9:16 pm If I understand his scoring system, it's 6 points for a TD and 1 point for 50 yards. And that's why I figure our system is "premium". Not quite TD only, but for the most part, yeah.

Does anyone still belive in N'Keal Harry
Last rookie draft Harry was pretty much considered the best WR of the draft. After a bad rookie season he seems to be valued by a lot of owners as worth a 2nd round pick. Poking around I don't find many post that say anything positive about him anymore. Does anyone still believe in him? Why?

Re: Does anyone still belive in N'Keal Harry
Yeah, I think he still has fair odds to have a good career. He was never my top WR in 2019 -- Hollywood, Deebo, and Metcalf beat him out (I was too low on AJB) -- but I had him as a late 1st then, and he hasn't lost too much of that value.
The problem comes with ranking him in this current rookie class, which has a lot of mostly-deserved hype surrounding it. A late 1st in 2019, though I liked that class, is looking more like a mid 2nd in this one.

Long story short, no. Harry didn't really flash as a rookie, and while I think NE will re-sign Brady, I don't know that Harry will be super productive in 2020. Beyond that, there are a lot of questions about the QB situation in NE. The most I'd pay to acquire Harry right now would be a mid 2nd.

There's also an argument to be made that Brady coming back isn't necessarily a good thing for Harry's fantasy value.WhatWouldDitkaDo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 12:23 am Long story short, no. Re: Does anyone still belive in N'Keal Harry
How many WRs have started their careers as poorly as Harry and gone on to meeting their fantasy draft stock? It's pretty rare. There are still reasons to be optimistic, but it's going to be hard to find anyone willing to pay much for that.djeternal2 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 5:53 am Nope I don't believe in any WR that doesn't pop in the first 5 min of their NFL career. Like others have said, I think the most I'd offer is a mid or late second and much of that is because this class is expected to be very good fantasy football wise.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Does anyone still belive in N'Keal Harry
I've made offers in a few leagues for early to mid 2nds but so far no takers. Can't say I blame them, I wouldn't sell him for that either but also don't want to give up a 1st for him.

Re: Does anyone still belive in N'Keal Harry
I took him at 1.04 last year and am holding for now, I don't think anyone has any real interest in him. Hopefully he turns it around but at this point I don't have any plans to have to rely on him in the future.
