Air mailed a couple passes, maybe due to jitters. Stood and took alot of hits while delivering pretty accurate passes. Spent alot of time running. Amazing he can deliver a rocket while not stepping into a throw. Overall he did pretty good. He certainly didn't Peterman himself against a good defense.

That was a tough defense for a first career game, while not having any of your top weapons, and he faired as well as one could have hoped in my opinion. Didn’t have TDs to show for it, but he put up yards, made impressive throws (while seeing his share of pressure and throwing in the run), and pulled out the W. He had the INT, which was an overthrow, but it was a strong first career showing nonetheless.

I was encouraged.

The interception came early on their second drive, and it really didn't seem to shake him. He came back out and continued taking shots downfield, and even had a game-winning drive after being benched in the 4th quarter.

To me one of the big things he did was coming back unshaken after the pick, not all young qbs can handle that well and he seemed to

Why did they bench him to begin with?

Mahomes. They benched him and then brought him back for the last 2 minute drive.

I saw that as well but missed why. I think Reid just thought the game was over but then needed to bring him back for 2 minute experience?

Watched the game. Don't think it was a disciplinary or performance related benching. Just think they wanted to give Bray a few reps in a meaningless game. Had the game not gotten close again Mahomes probably would have stayed on the bench.

After watching every snap, Mahommes really should have had 2 TD's. He got unlucky and stepped out of bound on a scramble where he got the pylon but just stepped out and then another pass he threw was caught at the 1 yard line on another drive and the WR just made a horrible play after the catch. You put those 2 TD's on the board for him and that would have been a great day against a talented defense. And he was playing with zero weapons on top of that. Hunt and Hill can really help a QB's stats. LOL

A big reason I am buying Hill before 2018 is because of Mahomes. I liked what I saw in the pre season in flashes. And vs Denver once he settled down, I liked what I saw even more. They have a stable organization, coach, and he will have great weapons around him. For anyone who doesnt have him, get him before he gets expensive.

How do you all think he will do this year?

Will he take off like Watson did last year or will he struggle?

He definitely has the weapons to succeed.

Looks like I will have to roll with him for at least the first few weeks with Winston suspended.

I think he has great potential but there will probably be some struggles early on. We will probably see some good yardage totals along with a healthy dose of interceptions. He has some wheels and can scramble a little bit so he should be an exciting QB to watch. Chiefs D is suspect so should be throwing a lot to try and comeback in games. I don’t own him but wish I did.
