I overpay when i want a guy, and i expect to get an overpay from someone when they want a guy from my team. I do it knowing im absolutely overpaying. Picks in my league are always replaceable especially a year out. It happens every year, or you get a rookie after they are drafted, that also happens every year. Two rookies were already traded in my league. I know my league dynamics.kmbryant09 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 8:39 amCatching up on this thread, I can't believe this didn't draw more attention.Patsfan86 wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 12:17 pm Im a believer in overpaying to get what i want, so i overpaid significantly in this, anyway

Also you cant combine two trades together as one trade. These were two separate trades. One was a significant overpay, as i mentioned, the other was Melvin on the decline in an RBBC with another talented RB for White who scored just as much as melvin and a WR who is being drafted in the top 16 of rookie drafts. Its not getting much attention because i outlined my philosophy and most arent gonna say Melvin for White and mims was wooooooooff. This isnt 2018 Melvin Gordon.

Julio isn't getting younger. I doubt I could get that now for him, let alone after another year of him getting older. I think it's a good deal. I do think he has plenty more production ahead of him though I get why you did itgogobradyarm wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:17 pm Gave away Julio, 4th

Re: 2020 Offseason Completed Trades
I love Julio...if healthy, he'll be a top 5 redraft WR the next couple seasons. That said, there are so many young WR's that can ascend, that it just makes sense to get out now. Big bodied WR's, that move as fast as he does, makes me worried at his age, even if he has played through so many injuries. I also think we're seeing Calvin Ridley take on the torch soon. The odd's of him producing top 5 or top 10 WR seasons beyond 2022 get really low (going into age 33 season). There aren't many receivers that have done that. Jerry Rice, and Larry Fitzgerald come to mind. Julio could be that, but too much risk for myself. I enjoy scouting anyhow.Jigga94 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 4:27 pmJulio isn't getting younger. Your first post made me assume you had 3+ locked in QBs, but your backup spot is really shaky beyond 2020. I like Minshew as much as anyone, but next year's QBs are gonna have to go somewhere and JAX is a good bet to pick high.... a team like yours seems like the ideal place to have Love as insurance.nathanq42 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:22 pmMe too, if I want sitting on mahomes, Watson, minshew, Dalton, and chase Daniels I would have probably snagged him, but I have 0 faith in GB as a franchise, so figured I'd take the hopefully early second in a draft that looks like it'll be solid and fairly deep at WR and QB

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. If love wasn't on the Packers I likely would have snagged him. If you like Mims so much, you could have kept 2.01 or 2.04 and taken him, or traded Brown for a late 1st.
I don't even like the rationale for your 2nd trade which you seem to think was a win on value for you. In my leagues, White scored 2.5 points less than Gordon on a per game basis, and White now gets a significant downgrade at QB. If you like Mims, I get it, but like I said before there were easier ways to get him than trading away a solid RB #2.
You turned Brown (mid-to-late 1st value), 2.01, 2.04, '21 1st, '21 2nd - essentially 3x 2nds and 2x late 1sts into a player that is largely being selected with pick 1.04 - 1.07.
I hope it works out to you, I always stand behind owners getting their guy. But to say you overpaid is an understatement, and not a sustainable, productive way to build a competitive dynasty roster.

Re: 2020 Offseason Completed Trades
Having Mahomes and Watson is obviously amazing in SF, and Minshew is a nice number 3 but not really something to bank on. Dalton and Daniel are not reasons to pass on a QB though and should not be considered "depth". You got a solid return, especially if that 2 is high once again, but I think taking Love would have been the right move over making that trade. I'm not even that big a fan of Love either, but he potential return on investment is just too high to pass on at that point.nathanq42 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:22 pmMe too, if I want sitting on mahomes, Watson, minshew, Dalton, and chase Daniels I would have probably snagged him, but I have 0 faith in GB as a franchise, so figured I'd take the hopefully early second in a draft that looks like it'll be solid and fairly deep at WR and QB
