Interesting that everybody is coming down so hard on the Cook side. I think with some great RB landing spots, say Swift in ATL and Taylor in KC, I might prefer Mostert and the picks.

I suppose Mostert could also be replaced, so you did well to minimize your risk. I just think there’s a lot of potential with all those picks.
I mean, could the 1.02 be better than Dalvin? Sure... But I'd rather not take the chance that he's a bust
Right, but then the rest of the trade is Mostert, 2.07, and 2.09 for Mattison and a 2021 3rd. I get why people prefer the Dalvin side, but I think most people would agree that there's a chance 1.02 ends up being relatively similar in value to Dalvin Cook, in which case this is a huge win for the picks side.

I don't think this was a bad trade, and I don't think anybody who would rather have Dalvin is wrong, I just think it's a lot closer than people are implying.

I can undertand the reasoning behind it, but it's still a light sell for MT. Were you the only one with 2 1sts? Might've played into their choice of wanting 2 "top" talents.

And there's a chance that 1.06 ends up being relatively similar to CMC, but that doesn't mean we should count on it when grading a trade.

To me this RB class where it's finally landed is a lot like the top of 2017 minus that Saquon level prospect. We have a group of good not great RB prospects that will likely end up somewhere in the late 1st/early 2nd of the NFL draft.

So if the 1.02 ends up being the Nick Chubb of that group then sure, it's a fine trade. If it ends up being Rashaad Penny, Sony Michel, or Derrius Guice then....ouch.

Wait, in a 12-team SF league, you got Mahomes & Jacobs for pick equivalents of 1.01, 1.05, 1.09, and 1.10?

Wow. Gotta figure that's about the price for Mahomes alone in a 12-team SF league...

Yup, it was actually 2 trades back to back with the same owner. The second I hit accept on the deal for Jacobs, which was for 1.9/2.01/2.05, he asked me about Mahomes. I sent the 1.01/1.05/1.10 for Mahomes and my 2nds back.

I just traded Fournette for Miles Sanders. I have a feeling Fournette will never come close to where his value is now moving forward. Gruden seems to always rely on a 2 back system and the 3rd down receiving back get's the bulk of the passing down work in his offense not a feature back.

I generally think the “he’s going to play the _____ role in this coach’s offense” is lazy analysis. It seems like Gruden has relied on multiple backs because he hasn’t had a real three down back. His nominal starters as an OC/HC have been Ced Benson, BJGE, Alf Morris, Fat Rob, Samaje Perine, and old Cyborg Adrian Peterson. None of those guys are Leonard Fournette.

If you’re going to criticize Gruden, it’s that he didn’t give his productive satellite backs (rookie Gio and healthy Thompson) enough run. I don’t think that applies to a more traditional starter like Fournette.
