Background

I sent an offer of M. Evans for Golladay and 1.8. Got rejected instantly with "not close". I was fine and moved on. Next day I am on the clock at 2.1 and Lamb is there. Same guy sends me

I send 2.1(Lamb)
for (2) 3rds and (2) 4ths

Im trying to understand how even in a 10 team sf league Lamb fell out of the first round

I do weekly videos for my league in youtube and talk about teams and my take, talk about the upcoming draft, and trades, I was requested to talk about this trade lol some league mates were not happy about team A return for the 2 studs!

New guy took over a team, and he made an immediate trade bringing in a haul for Devante Adams. New owner then said in the chat Mahomes would be on the block. This is a 1qb, 6pt passing td league


Few hours later posts a screen shot of the offer he got of Carson Wentz and a 3rd for Mahomes and asks if it’s a joke. I laughed, said welcome to the league, guessing some guys around here were trying to feel out if they could take advantage of the new guy and gain an edge for their team.

Guy who made the offer got pretty upset the offer was aired to the league to make fun of him. That it’s not far off, Wentz and Mahomes were within 25 pts last year and it’s 1qb, and if he didn’t like it a “no thanks” was all that was needed.

1) Wentz and a 3rd for Mahomes a truly bad trade offer?

2) Any of you in leagues with an active group chat post those ugly offers that come your way for league mates to see?

Edit 2: nevermind. Guy who offered Wentz and a 3rd for Mahomes didn’t accept the apology, told him to keep his crap to himself. So new guy said F this and quit.

Update 3: Dude is back. Asked commish if he could come back, commish left it to the guy he beefed with who said sure. Everything seems ok so far and hopefully behind us. Guessing airing bad offers is now a gentleman's rule in this league to never do.

New guy did immediately make a mega trade with our commish, our comish is known for doing these wall of text trades about once a year I swear just because he's bored and crafting them entertains him in the off season. Not a bad deal, just posting in this thread as that's where I talked about the saga of a bad offer.

MFL shows trades and offers in the transaction feed so you can see all the offers in the bulk of my leagues to begin with. The guy not accepting the apology is well, I won't use the word. It was a dog ---- offer, period. Idiotic. If he got roasted, he deserved it, don't want to get roasted for ---- offers, don't make ---- offers. Most people that try to take advantage of newbies w/such offers are well aware that they're doing it, and will own it, that guy strikes me as a disingenuous word I can't say, or someone who just isn't capable of owning their own b.s. Lord knows I've occasionally made some horrible offers, even now in an RSO league I'm trying to figure out how to make reasonable offers to move into the 2.02 in a 10 team SF, and I'm honestly not sure what's a reasonable offer for the 2.02 with Jeudy/Reagor somehow slipping and still available at 2.01. I may be making a crappy offer, not sure, it's hard to suss it out when it's a contract league.

But in standard dynasty it's actually easy. Plug in that Mahomes trade for Wentz and it comes out: 536-133, and that's before I add in the 6 points per TD thing and w/me saying that third was 3.01 and who knows if that's true.

It's a horrible trade, period, own it. Not accepting an apology for something that didn't require an apology in the first place is just doubling down on the stupidity. Congrats on the guy for escaping that insanity by quitting. Life's too short for that ----.

In a 1QB it's close enough. Maybe a late 2nd? Also how many teams? Posting like that is bad form. Did he get any better offers after he posted it?

It's something that can be enabled I'm sure, but trade offers are definitely not something that is typically publically available, not until they've been accepted.

Right on. I've had it happen to me twice. Both times the offers really weren't that bad, in one case I had a similar deal agreed to with another owner who backed out after the call-out (the owner who called me out said he wouldn't even give a 3rd for the player).

Both times it happened, I just refuse to deal with the other owner. Don't send them offers and don't respond to their offers at all.

As I taught my kids, when people show you who they are, believe them.

Disagree, but I understand why some feel this way because as we can tell by these threads there is some degree of the "eye of the beholder" about values, and values also change over time, so a horrible offer can actually turn into a balanced one, or even flip entirely on it's side if something truly chaotic happens (like stuff going on with Hunt in '18 and Hill in '19). I understand the point of view, but you have a player whose guilty of sending grand Mal idiocy offers like some I listed a few days ago, eventually they're going to get called out for it. I've done it privately, not publicly, but I wouldn't begrudge someone for ----ing publicly about offers as insane as 1.02 and Juju for a couple of late round '20 rookie picks.

well thats just it, why get mad at an offer, regardless of how bad it is? I think everyone has "that guy" in their league, just ignore it and move on. Most of these guys are just throwing names our there hoping something sticks, whats the purpose of calling them out?
