Baker is my biggest buy of the off-season. I wasn't really interested in his price tag after his rookie year because there was really no where to go but down, but I absolutely see him rebounding. I think most are underestimating how good he was his rookie year. He had the 2nd highest PFF grade ever for a rookie QB. He was their 2018 ROY over all-pros, Barkley and Nelson. As a rookie, he had a higher grade than Ryan, Wentz, Big Ben, Cousins and many others.

I'd be a bit more worried if Kitchens was still the coach, but I think a new coach, even though it presents the challenges of learning a new offense, will serve him well. The Browns Oline was the even bigger problem. If they can address that, I think we'll see the Baker of his rookie year. I'm not trying to just shade over his 2nd year. He without question deserves some of the blame and took a step back. But at his current price, I'm absolutely betting he figures it out. Would have no interest in anything close to a Baker for Minshew swap

Jesus. What a steaming load of identity politics horseshit. If anyone wants to sell Baker low based on that type of inane “analysis,” I’d be more than happy to buy.

Mayfield (who i cant stand and is annoying and arrogant) was criticized and laughed at a ton this season while Lamar (who i love) was adored from all over. What is this lady talking about?

The author's name is Greg Moore, I don’t know of many ladies named Greg, but it's 2020 so who really knows anymore.

I believe that author is talking from a $ / endorsement standpoint

For example this article states Lamar has no endorsement deals with any major companies at the moment.

https://www.baltimoresun.com/business/b ... story.html

"Jackson, who is expected to be named MVP when the award is announced Saturday, in advance of the Super Bowl on Sunday night, remains unaffiliated with any major brand, apparel or otherwise. "

Meanwhile

https://fanbuzz.com/nfl/baker-mayfield-net-worth/

Mayfield is the focus of several Progressive commercials along with his wife, Emily Wilkinson. He also has massive deals with Nike, BodyArmor, Nissan, Hulu, Amazon, Panini America and Allen Edmonds that are definitely boosting his net worth, but it’s an in-depth money management team that’s driving Mayfield’s long-term success.

Oh boy...
Yes, Baker got far more of an endorsement push heading into this season. So let’s remember:

Mayfield was one of the most efficient passers in college football history, came in as the #1 pick, and had a very good looking rookie year, turning around a Browns franchise that hadn’t looked capable in a LONG time. His team then traded for Beckham, fueling the hype of what could happen with that offense. Of COURSE people will want him endorsing their product.

Jackson came in as a prolific runner and raw (by nfl standards) passer. He was the last pick in the first round I believe. He looked raw his rookie year. Their hyped team move was to bring in...Mark Ingram. Jackson had some intrigue, but what he did as a passer was totally unexpected by most everyone.

But I’m sure all the endorsements this columnist is complaining about (commercials that AREN’T typically made in season) are only because Baker is a spoiled white kid and Jackson isn’t.
