Shoulders to Cry On

Postby BucFanJKE » Tue Dec 03, 2019 12:09 pm

I wanted to make a safe space where we could wallow in pity about our teams that missed the playoffs.

In my team 4 I missed the playoffs as the second best scoring team in the league. I might be the only team in the world that has CMC and missed the playoffs. I legitimately just had the worst luck. I had an average of 157 points scored against me each week. The next closest was 131 per week.... To make the six seed all I had to do was win in week 13. I scored the 2nd most points on the week, but I lost by 5 points...

Bright side is I have 3 picks inside the top 6, and if I win my first consolation bracket game (I have a bye) I will have two of those 3 in the top 3. (Our league does draft picks based on teams that lose in consolation bracket each week with worst record on the season of those two getting the earlier pick).

I could have had 4 first in the lottery if Matt "cement feet" Ryan didnt feed the saints D so many points, and if DeVante Parker didnt have to pop off for 35 points.... C'est la vie... hopefully the one that got away ends up being 1.07...

I lost a must win to stay in 5th and make the playoffs. I fell to 7th..still a year early for this team anyway. Now I need to spend the off season trying to land a stud.

9th year in a league, have never missed on the playoffs until this year - finished last in my division due to a lot of underperforming.

In my 18 team league, I finished 5th in PF but placed 14th.

My chance to have my first undefeated team was ended this week and I went 12-1.

The last one is bittersweet, as I still made the playoffs as the 1 seed.

Never fear, there are dozens of us! I, too, had the 2nd highest points for. Won my last 3 games to go 6-7... oh well, onto next year.

Missed out on the playoffs with the team below. Very disappointing given my expectations coming into the season. To make matters even worse, I severely sold low on Lamar Jackson after his first 3 games and gave up my 1st round pick which is now 1.05.

only advice to myself is stop playing on (masters) since most points doesn't matter

So much luck involved in FF. I've been top points 3 years in a row and only once won the division(and a 1st round bye), yet to win the league.

Sounds like I had a similar season for Team 2

I've got one of the better all around rosters in the league, but got unlucky week in & week out - (finished 5-7)
I went into a mini rebuild after week 9 when I had 2 wins & grabbed 2 picks that should be top 5

But I sneaked into the playoffs because the last seed is determined based by points scored in that particular league
....would highly recommend this

Not many things in fantasy football are more frustrating than putting together a team that consistently scores more than most of your opponents, and still ending up with a losing season. It's not like we can play defense lol

Im here to cry because because my rebuilding team finished the season by going 4-1 and fell to the 1.05 pick. Parker and Washington were both dropped in my league this year, I picked them up and they elevated me to another level, right out of a top 3 pick.

This is the most success my team strung together in 2 seasons, lots of hope an optimism for 2020.

First time missing the playoffs 2 straight years since my first 2 years in the league in 2005-2006. Was eliminated after Week 12 and expected to finish with the 4th worst record out of 16. But my opponent's Lockett in Week 13 put up 0 and I botched losing and somehow finished 9-13 instead of 8-12...lol. So now tied with that team for 5th worst record, but I'll have 1 less "lottery ball" by virtue of sweeping him. SMH, tough season. Here's hoping everyone who missed the playoffs in 2019 comes back stronger in 2020. I'm already missing it and will look forward to the draft. Cheers.
