Last minute roster changes

Both myself and my opponent this week are 2-10. So this is the showdown for the number#1 pick. At the last minute he pulled out Melvin Gordon 13, Kareem hunt 17.5, and TraVis kelce 14. In their place he played Dare Oj?(tb) 3.2, j Gordon, cj uzmo?(cin)10.1. N folk0 was also started over r gould 5. A difference of 36.2 points. We won't even get into who he started at wr over Miller.

His reasoning is because I didn't play diggs over Ridley, Hopkins, and Sutton. So I was tanking.


Current score is 106.42-77.62
I have D. Hunter and Penny left. It's likely I wouldn't pass his score I'd he didn't change his line-up. What would you do?

Are there anti tanking rules in your league? Otherwise, you can't do much except shame him and tell the Fantasy Gods on him

That's total BS and needs immediate and strong action by the commish. Minimum punishment should be that all his picks automatically become those of the lowest non playoff team, so become 1.06/2.06/3.06 instead of 1.01/2.01/3.01 in a typical 12 team league with 6 team playoff. If this is not adequately addressed this is no longer a league that is worth being a part of.

Do you have anti-tanking rules? If you do, that owner should get kicked from the league. If not, you put in anti-Tank rules in the off-season

Tanking is kind of an unwritten rule that you don't do it - but without it in the bylaws it is hard to provide punishment. Unethical for sure, though.

If it's not in the rules, nothing you can do about it except petition to get it added to the rules.

total scum of the earth. I tanked pretty hard but never took out obj, evans, DJ Moore, ekeler, or waller. Them popping of won me a few games but I can sleep knowing I am not a scumbag. I could have set a garbage line up to get a higher draft lottery %, but I still set my best lineup anyways like every week

agreed, only problem is my league is on nfl.com because its free and that isn't a tracked stat... So it would have to be done manually

I'm in PP leagues and I'm in purely standings leagues and both work fine. There's no right answer, you just need owners with integrity which the vast majority are, the bad examples just get all the attention in these types of discussions.

it kind of is: the "coach" tab under "standings" in the league main page tells you how many more points you could have scored by starting an ideal lineup every week, just add that to the total points and it's done. order should then be rearranged manually but that should be easy.


as for the OP: talk to the commissioner and rest of the league. if they all/most agree it sucks, work out a punishment (he stays n.02, gets no picks, last pick in each round, whatever). worst it can happen is the tanker gets the hump and bleep off... doesn't seem a big loss.

if not, get something worked out in the off season and enjoy his future demise.

Thanks for the tip! funnily enough me (9th/10th place) and the guy in dead last have the most points left on the bench... It really penalizes you for having nobodies/prospect level players on you bench that pop off for one game though ie. Taylor Gabriel, or studs that put up a goose egg in your starting line up even though its the right roster move to make
