I think Keller is better than Cook.

Yeah I don't get the lack of love for Keller. I don't own him but always thought with a better QB he be an above average to good TE.

He was definitely held hostage by the Sanchize. Not that a better QB would blow up his numbers a whole lot more, but I feel Tannehill >>>>>> Sanchez.

Per Rotoworld:
Jermichael Finley's camp is "sitting on pins and needles" as the Packers continue contract negotiations with free agent Greg Jennings.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms there's a "good chance" the Packers would ask Finley to take a pay cut or release him if they re-signed Jennings. Finley is nervous because NFL cap money is being spent left and right, and his market could be weak if he didn't hit free agency for another week, or maybe more. The Packers don't owe Finley a dime until his March 27 $3 million roster bonus.
Guess Finley has a chance to be in play as well.

Same. But what ARE the chances Finley wiggles loose and finds his way to Miami? Is a Keller signing imminent?

Tannehill

Postby Fezzik » Tue Sep 24, 2013 10:03 am

I searched a past thread (from earlier this year) that seemed to imply a consensus that his upside is limited to high QB2/low QB1. I don't see why it can't be higher than that.

This is all through 19 career starts and only 3 decent games this year, so obviously bears some additional scrutiny and patience before this question is decided. But what exactly is he missing? He certainly seems to have very good athleticism, he's a pocket QB (a plus imo b/c he doesn't take hits) he's been accurate (66% this year so far), and he has some weapons. He's not lighting the world up by any means, for sure. When Philbin was OC in Green Bay, was he only passing so much because he had Rogers, or does he prefer a pass first system and Tanny isn't ready for that yet?

I don't think he's the next Rogers, but I think I'm higher than most on him. I'm wondering if there's a flaw to how I'm evaluating. I guess I'm looking for opinions. Do most perceive him to be a potentially good/decent 'real life' QB but never a dynasty asset? If so, what's holding him back from being a legit QB1 down the road? Scheme/Situation? Athleticism? Talent? Accuracy? Do we just not know yet, and other options (Cam, RG3, Luck, Kaep, Wilson) all look so much better?

I don't think there is a flaw in how you are evaluating him. I too like what he has shown thus far. I don't own Tannehill in any league but - I do like him as a prospect though. I think it is quite possible that he evolves into a qb1. I'm not saying it is a lock as I (we all) need to see more, but I do like what I've seen thus far. I would be very happy to have him as a developmental qb3, I wouldn't be totally comfortable with him as my qb2, and certainly not yet for a qb1 on a fantasy team. I like the weapons that are being placed around him. Bottom line is that we have just seen more from Cam, RGIII, Luck, Kaep, and Wilson than we have from Tannehill. Also contributing toward the lack of big time buzz, is the depth of the qb position now in the NFL coupled with the fact that most fantasy teams only have to start 1.
Truth is found through Evidence.

Science is the poetry of reality.

* Reality (as defined by Webster's dictionary) - A word for things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional ideal of them.

I really like Tannehill. I think he will be a good NFL starting QB for a long time

I wonder though, if he isnt a better NFL quarterback than fantasy quarterback. There is nothing that screams "I'm about to throw for 300 yards per game with 2+ touchdowns". Hopefuly that changes because I hyped him a bit during the offseason (plus he's my number 2 behind Stafford).

He's in his 2nd year as a QB after not having played much in college. He has a 3-0 team w/some pretty decent stats. I think he's going to be fine.

He's tied for 7th in the NFL for completion %(66.4), but he's ranked as a bottom QB2 as of now. He's taking slightly too many sacks for now, but I fully expect those #'s to course correct to a 4000 yard passer and 25 TDs by next year.

All the talent in the world, and Philbin is a nice guy to have around as a QB(see Rodgers)
10 team, 2 qb, 4WR, 2 RB, FLEX, .5 ppr, 5 pt passing td, 6 pts rush/rec tds (5 qb roster max)

QB - Russell Wilson, David Carr Josh Rosen
WR - Brandin Cooks, Tyreek Hill, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett, Marvin Jones, Calvin Ridley, Marquez Valdes-Scantling Robby Anderson, Josh Reynolds, Jamison Crowder, Mecole Hardman, Deon Cain
RB - David Johnson, James Conner, Duke Johnson, Wayne Gallman, Nyheim Hines, Bryce Love, Justice Hill, Ryquell Armstead,
TE - Gerald Everett

I feel as though Tannehill his one of the most underrated qbs around. I have I'm in my sig team, and feel confident he is my qb of the future. Would like to see them draft a LT next April, but feel as though they are adding some weapons around him

Ok see that's pretty much exactly how I feel, maybe a little bit less confident he is going to be the guy though. I drafted him knowing he's a project, but (as I said above) where does this guy miss? What doesn't he have?

Long leaving for the Rams hurt and they've had to make due but he's got all the tools. I think he gets lost in the shuffle b/c everyone loves the other guys (admittedly with good reason), but he's a player.
