You really need to stop using this as your argument.

Why? Because I have a source that has known him for the last 5 years and knows JW very well?
That's just an supporting thing to my view on him as a whole....how many incidents has he gotten into in Tallahassee?? (The school where its VERY VERY hard to get in trouble at if you're a football player)

Lemme guess?? I'm making all of this up so I can try to acquire him for cheaper? Lol

So that source trumps every other source, eh? Obviously, that's all you need to make a judgement call.

What "other source " would it trump?

I was college buddies with one of FSU's strength coaches and he said himself that he thinks JW is a douche and doesn't like him? Given all the problems JW had while at FSU and the persona he had while in Tallahassee I would think quite a few people would think he's a douche also. My "source" directly knows JW, knows him very well and is unbiased towards him, I would say that's a pretty good source of any...

Right, but you also have to weigh that with what others think/have said of him. The opinion of one person doesn't negate the opinion of many.

I'm sure you're a nice guy in general (and I mean that sincerely). However, if I were to talk to someone that knew you personally that had a bad experience of you, would it be wise of me to base my opinion off of what that other person said--even though I've never actually interacted with you outside of dynasty football discussion?

I've never met winston. Neither have you. I know lots of people that studied him for the 3 years he was at FSU. You know one person that interacted with him. You have a better, more direct source, but it's really unwise to paint JW with a broad brush by using that one source as your main argument against him.

And lastly... what does Winston being a douche have to do with his fantasy football performance? Are we devaluing guys because they're jerks? If so, there's a lot of players we should be talking about...

I completely agree with what you mean, but I'd take my buddy's opinion over him that what some sports reporter or scout would know because they don't get the unfiltered version of JW, they got the "all business" version of him. My buddy spent every day with JW for 4 years, he's gonna know the good and the bad.

I didn't say it has to do with his fantasy relevance, I was just adding on to what someone else has said. I think it's wayyy to early to start moving players based on 10 NFL games, remember RG3? Lol

FWIW, I think Dez is a huuuuge idiot (or at least 2 years ago before he matured a LITTLE*) and I can't stand OBJ but I don't value them any less because of it, I just cheer extra hard against them lol

True... true. I think RG3 and Winston are very different players, though... do you disagree?

Yes but you get the point, players can look great at first and then crash and burn or vice versa...especially QBs.

Him and Mariota both look great so far but its been only a few games, we already knew they were the best 2 rookie QB when they were drafted, not much has changed..they are looking like the players they were drafted to be

I like the change of profile pic btw. Kinda weird to not see it all pixalated.

I'm guessing you're a Matt Ryan & Winston owner like me and started him in Ryan's bye week only to watch him but up 5TDs on your bench the next.

The court of opinion in the fantasy community doesn't have to adhere to the same rules of evidence a court of law does, so hearsay can run free. Coogan's source is the best one I've heard of. And Z, you mention a lot of people that have "studied" Jameis for the past 3 years. Studied how? Is he the subject of a course somewhere?

I think that his off-field behaviour prior to joining the league paint the picture of an entitled attention seeker. He likes being the big man on campus - likely a natural leader, but nevertheless an immature bonehead at the same time. I've got buddies that played high end D-1 ball (albeit many years ago) who told me numerous stories of the parties and the "opportunities" to get into trouble, and how the school only cared about what they did on the field.

As Z rightly points out, it is the system to blame. Jameis is merely a product of it. Judge him however you want (and I have previously) but he's merely the tip of the iceberg of a much more systemic problem. Now, as noted, a jerk is a jerk, no matter the road traveled to get there. He's probably a great guy to be buddies with. Ultimately, we're in this for the points, no moral victories to be had. I eat meat, stare at other women and will employ the services of jerks on my fantasy teams if it means I can win a game, or a championship. I'm the proud new owner of a Jameis (for Flacco and Matt Jones...#brag), and so long as he continues dropping 3-5 TDs per game I'll be happy to overlook anything he does off the field unless it happens to affect me or those I love, personally. Alright, this was fun. Carry on.

As long as he keeps throwing 5 touchdowns a game he can rape whoever he wants
