Been aboard since last week.

Some of the throws this kid makes are Mahomes-esque

Should we start selling tickets for the Drew Lock hype train yet?

I always thought Drew Lock had the most natural talent of the class in 2019, albeit a bit raw and mechanically unsound.
He's already looking a lot less raw than I thought he would.

DEN staff was right, he definitely doesn't look ready yet... :wall:

Glad they finally gave him the shot to get out there, he gives them a chance. Also makes me much more excited about Sutton and Fant.

I only saw a handful of plays yesterday ... including his horrendous INT. Was there any reason for hope or was he as bad as his numbers looked?

Mahomes still made it look fine. But then again... he's Mahomes.

That KC secondary is low key underrated, and it was exactly the sort of game/script/situation that would expose a rookie QB. Look for a big rebound against the Lions this week.

It was Lock's 3rd career start, and first time playing in conditions like that. He still made some decent throws, but overall the performance doesn't concern me at all.

He was just as horrendous as the box score indicated if not worse, but like others have said, they were terrible conditions and it was his third career start. I'll go out on a limb and say the Chiefs defense is also probably the best he's played so far with a Watt-less Texans having a terrible secondary and the Chargers just being marginal. Can't compare his performance to Mahomes'. I'd still be riding the high from the previous two games showing a base level of competence at this level. There will be ups and downs but the upside appears to be there.

The Broncos have definitely shown that Drew Lock is going to have all the weapons he can handle this year - Jeudy, Hamler & Okwuegbunam on top of Melvin Gordon - guess we shall see if this gives him a QB1 type season upside soon enough!

Drew Lock outlook

Postby gmoftheyear » Fri May 01, 2020 2:06 pm

What does everyone think on Drew Lock's progression in year 2 and beyond? He played really well down the stretch last year and now add Gordon and Jeudy along with a developing Sutton and Fant. Believers or naysayers out there? And what would you trade in draft picks to acquire him?

A mid-late 2nd in a 1 QB league and maybe a late first in SF.

He went for Mike Evans before the draft in a 6PT TD superflex.

I imagine his price has gone up after the draft.

A lot of people are sleeping on Lock.. but the more you know about him the more you realize he's been a buy since last season.

What do you think he's worth in terms of draft capital?
