Who are some guys y'all think are worth grabbing now that will see an increase in value due to free agency next year?

Mecole Hardman. Hes flashed quite a bit and Watkins is a huge cap hit next year.

Great call. I would be shocked if Watkins is back in KC next year.

DK Metcalf. Either in early 2020 or down the stretch of this season, he'll begin to truly morph into the No. 1 in Seattle.

QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert

I feel like he's a gadget guy. He goes deep or jet sweeps. Not sure how much that changes. I know it sounds crazy, but I expect the Chiefs to go after another vet WR, that's cheaper than Watkins, and probably more productive, so I expect Hardman to have the same type of role.

Who's a FA next year that makes DK more valuable?

Well, Jaron Brown, David Moore and Malik Turner. AKA every WR without the first name Tyler.

But rather than use that as the crux of the argument, I'd look at how his utilization in the red zone (as a rookie) increases is increasing as each week goes bye. He's currently a boom-or-bust receiver dependent on deep routes or end zone trips, but I'm buying into his growth and what SEA is working to morph him into. Metcalf's fantasy value is currently crippled by the fact that he's yet to haul in more than four catches in a game. It's a good opportunity to buy before the breakout (though he's likely owned by the person who drafted him, and was high on him to begin with).

I definitely get that guys improve drastically from their rookie year but it's just hard to envision him morphing into an alpha on a team that has Tyler Lockett. They seem to work so hard to get him catches while every ball anywhere in the vacinity of Lockett just gets sucked in with relative ease.

Lockett has been targeted 26 times in the last 6 games and he has caught an astounding 24 of them. In 5 of the last 6 games he has caught 100% of his targets, which is utterly insane. And it's not like it's just a bunch of short garbage either as his YPC over that span is over 14.

I don't agree that DK will be the #1 in Seattle, because Lockett is a very good receiver and they make an effort to keep him featured.

But just because Lockett is good doesn't mean DK can't continue to improve and increase target share. I'd be buying if he weren't already valued highly. Anyone who drafted is likely holding or wanting an overpay.

I might be mistaken, but I think the implication is to try and buy them now before the stonks go way way up next season.

Agree. These aren't guys that you can just go out and buy cheap. Their owners probably spent a 1st to get them and will want at least that in return, if not more. I was thinking this thread would have names that are going to be free agents next year with the hopes of going somewhere where they can be a starter or have better opportunities. Not rookies who still hold value.

Alot of folks said the exact same thing about Tyreek Hill. I dont care if hes a gadget or a prototypical X, he plays for Reid with Mahomes chucking the ball. And hes a freak athlete. He will score a ton of fantasy points and thats what matters. If you have doubts trade him to me.
