No one said 4 targets is a lot. But, it is a decent amount considering he only played 43% of the snaps. I would expect that to go up moving forward, wouldn't you?

I think the things to consider here:

100 yards is the most in a Titans WR rookie debut.

Davis has had 2 100 yard games in 27 tries, AJB is 1 for 1.

Obviously it's silly to think that AJB has surpassed Davis -- Davis's snap percentages still indicate he is the clear WR1, and he's not devoid of talent himself.

But it was interesting to see him have success this early.

Brown is a very good player. I rated him highly but he was one of the few I dropped due to location. Still had a 1st round grade on him.

He has WR 1 upside on the Titans IMO.

Mariota isn’t very good over the long haul but given that team can really run he will get plenty of one on one opportunities.

Let’s talk... AJ Brown (aka, official AJB thread)

Postby Shcritters » Sat Oct 26, 2019 8:59 pm

Was looking through the board and didn’t see a thread specifically devoted to AJ Brown. I’ve seen him discussed in pockets and on other threads, and if I missed a dedicated one I apologize.

So he was probably drafted first round in most rookie drafts, has played well despite minimum targets, has shown the ability to beat press coverages, and is a YAC beast. By my estimate he’s probably the 1.03-1.06 in PPR leagues (non-SF or TE premium) if you did the draft over again with what we know now (Jacobs, McLaurin, DK, MBrown?, Harry?)

Thoughts? I’m getting offers of a mid-2020 1st for him but feel like I should hold.

Can we not have another "let's talk" thread? I love AJB, but every thread is about talking about the subject. It doesn't require saying let's talk about it. Sorry, this has been mentioned before, by multiple posters. Just a pet peeve of mine.

On your personal team advice, I'd hold. He's playing well, and he was a really good prospect to begin with. He a dog. He's an alpha type WR who is big, athletic, and plays tough. He 's a good football player.

EDIT. Above poster beat me to it because I added on to my original statement.

We need a "Let's talk about Let's talk threads".

I feel like we need Frasier saying "let's talk" every time one of these threads gets posted.

We need to have an intervention for this guy, he's the one that has started almost all of them.

I’ll admit I missed some of the earlier ones - so thanks to the mod for pulling them all together... but isn’t it nice to have a thread about a specific player all in one place? But I digress...

If the 2019 rookie draft was re-done today AJB would likely be in the 1.01-1.03 conversation. What does the community think - is this the start of something big, or something unsustainable and he’ll lose value between now and the end of next year? His YPC has been absurd and can’t be maintained... do we think he’ll make up for it in volume next year (the Lockett argument), or do we think his skill set and size/speed makes him the next JuJu or Hopkins and we shouldn’t worry about YPC?

I’ve got a TEN homer in one of my leagues and wondering if now is the time to try to sell super high.

He was always there for me, I just was able to get him later. Brown was my top WR in this class, and 1.01 until Jacobs went in round 1. AJB is a damn good football player. I think if you trade him, you better get a ton for him, he could easily be worth twice what people would pay now if he has a big year next year.

I saw some respected twitter pundits throwing comments out like ‘AJB or DJ Moore in the 2nd round of a startup next year? Not out of the question’. Is that where we are at - roughly at around WR15?
